My first job after graduation the PM I reported to was a very good guy. He was genuinely innocent as anyone I ever met. He and his wife were expecting their first child.

One day I said hey, whatever you do don't name your kid Peter, Richard, or anything that could get the nickname Harry. He said Peter and Harold were in their top 3 due to previous names of men in the family.

I said think about it you can't name a kid Peter Holster, that would be like naming him cock holster and while not common Harry Holster could be translated to bearded clam.

He didn't seem happy with me. At work the next day he thanked me. He and his wafe had a discussion and he had a list of names to run by me and a couple of the other guys. He laughed and said his wife told him that working with degenerates does have some value.

At the elementary school I work at I was surprised by the number of traditional names coming back. Not a ton but there were some Kevin's and Louise's and some other old school names.

They are few and far between. I know a great family that decided to go WAY back with their kids' names -- Alice, Betty, George and Henry (twins). All three of my kids' names can be found in the Bible.

On the other hand, the award ceremonies at my daughter's gymnastics meets sound like roll call at a Korean school -- except they are one name. Kynleigh, Brynleigh, Mynleigh, *-leigh.

My son's soccer team had 3 Jaxons on it last year. Had to go by initials. Zero traditional names.

The legend of Lemonjello (leh-mon-jillo) and orangejello (ah-ron-jillo) has been around since the 60s, perhaps prior, but I recall it as a kid in the early 60s. Back then, nobody could ever come up with their surname for verification purposes, but perhaps later on someone chose to name their kids after gelatin, lol.

Supposedly, one of the local families had a kid named "Link Baloney" (I forget the surname), but I never crossed paths with him either.

I have a semi common older millenial first name with a common spelling and I have to constantly spell. I just roll with however you spell it now but usually when I have to say my name to identify myself I spell it out as well.

My oldest grandaughter (class of '26!!) has 4 names (don't ask me why). When she graduated from high school, I remember thinking she would be the only one with four names. When I got the little booklet thing they hand out, there must have been 30 or 40 kids with four names (out of 150 to 160 graduates). I had forgotten about the Mexican kids having their mother's surname included along with the father's surname.

I took Drivers Ed with a guy named Mike Hunt. He was a big, tough looking fella that 15 yo me didn't care to anger. It was particularly challenging during the roll call each session when the aged lady instructor called his name out. Mike Hunt?

My name fell out of favor after the turn of the 19th Century. Common name in literature but for girls just too stodgy and old fashioned, I guess. I met one girl with my name for the first time when I was at A&M.

A woman calls College Station police on Saturday to report she and two other women were hiding in her apartment bedroom because her ex-boyfriend threatened to kill her. According to the CSPD arrest report, the man got into the apartment. Then the phone line went dead. One of two officers who responded saw evidence the man attempted to pry open the bedroom door. Along with a text that was sent to the victim, that led to the arrest of 17 year old Pimptereus Henderson of Bryan on a charge of family violence terroristic threat. As of Monday evening, Henderson remains jailed in lieu of a $5,000 dollar bond.

Oh wait, that was 2021.

My mother's maiden initials were KKK. No joke. It's a very classic Irish female first and middle name forming the first two K's and the third obviously her father's surname. Her family was from Pennsylvania/Ohio and she moved to Texas when she was 6 or 7.

Asked my grandpa once about it and he said it honestly never dawned on him until after she was born a coworker pointed it out.
