Chili's cracked the code for affordability and quality. I think they are doing way better than most crappy chain restaurants on the highway these days where everything tastes the same and costs $70-100 for a quick dinner out.

What happened to OTB? It used to be pretty good for cheap-chain TexMex but there was a sharp decline in the like 5-10 years...kinda similar to Pei Wei.

I loved Pei-Wei.

Same. Their lettuce wraps were as good as PF Changs. Then they started tasting like dog food.
I haven't eaten at OTB in a long time, but I always liked their food. It wasn't the best food in the world, but abotu what you'd expect at their price point (back in the day). They had good chips, salsa and fajitas. Sad to hear they went downhill.

Private equity bought them in 2014, Pappas bought them at the bankruptcy auction for 15.9 million, and now they are throwing in the towel.
Between covid and inflation I'm surprised more places aren't calling it quits. On the Border, off the map.

I mean, the food was terrible. But that seems pretty common at a lot of restaurants today. Covid set the restaurant industry back to McDonalds level. My wife and I hardly eat out anymore b/c we don't want to pay $70 to drink water (we hardly every drink alcohol) and eat bad food.
Why you bringing Chili's into this?
The service also sucks now too at every chain but roadhouse and Waffle House.
Sir, I'll have you know the Chili's here in Bixby, Oklahoma is solid! Can't beat that Three for Me deal….

Putting On the Border in Ca, TX, AZ is like putting an Olive Garden in NYC's Little Italy.

My wife and I would get hammered at the OTB in the Orlando airport before flying to Mexico.
Pouring out an overpriced margarita in its memory.

The grocery store "On The Border" chips are great.
I hope Utz Brands keeps producing them.

Chilis is one of the fastest growing chains in America. And doing quite well.
