I'd imagine they would never get the nod for the Olympics or World Cup. Same will happen in Los Angeles

Also, I'd imagine this didn't happen when the little general dropped a bucket to win game 4 in 99

You do know that both NY and LA are hosting a bunch of World Cup games including NY with the final? And LA is hosting the next summer olympics.

Both teams are hard to root for.

Knicks because it's in NYC.

Spurs because of the Marxist anti-American cloud of Poppovich that still permeates that organization. Winnebago's comments and then watching Champagne laugh and juggle a ball during the anthem last night doesn't help that continued perception either.

I find myself slightly rooting for the Knicks over the Spurs, but I mostly don't care.

What were his comments? I missed that.

Their last championship was in 1973.

Hakeem the dream did a pretty good job of frustrating the knicks in 94. I recall one of the games getting pre-empted by OJ in his Ford Bronco chase. Those were desperate times.

I was 13, and I have never been so mad. Everyone in our house was fuming...my mom doesn't even care much about sports and she was like "how can they do this?!".

Modern NBA fans and even players like Lebron need to go back and watch that series, for a little taste of just how physical basketball was in the 90's. In was downright violent in the paint...I could not believe what the officials were letting them get away with. Everyone focuses on Patrick Ewing, but Charles Oakley and Anthony Mason were f-ing hitmen.

You want to watch peak 90's NBA defense and physicality, that's the series.

And how many WorldstarHipHop videos do we make, showing us attacking opposing fans, and post on here?

That's the point/difference.

You can be a "rabid fan" without resorting to violence when your team wins or loses.

I was beyond pissed. At the time I lived alongside the 91 fwy in LA. My daughter and I stood on our balcony and watched the white ford bronco and chase aircraft roll up the fwy towards B'wood. Surreal evening.

That said. '94 was great, but nothing compared to the second championship where the Dream carried the entire team on his shoulders thru the whole postseason. #heart-of-a-champion.

Pop is a nut case, cannot stand him. Great coach but He should have kept his mouth shut on politics

I do not understand why he opened his mouth, for the longest time he didn't say anything about politics, I guess it is old age or something, the older he gets the nuttier he gets and more he opens his mouth

Pop thought he was untouchable, and he was mostly right until the Spurs started to suck under his watch. The stretch of success had more to do with the players than Pop. Once the big three got old, no one wanted to buy what Pop was selling. It was a fitting end to his tenure considering how he weaseled his way into the Head Coach position in the first place.

As a Spurs fan all the way back to the ABA, I'm disgusted with this crap. Not gonna be bothered one bit if the Knicks win it all.

Edit: But, Knicks fans suck. They're just as as much anti-America as these *****ers. Just talked myself into sticking with the Spurs.

Knicks fans are probably worse, true, but let's not forget that Spurs fans tried their best to burn San Antonio to the ground last time they won a title. Both fan bases contain a lot of trash.

I don't care for either team, so this is kind of a "go team meteor" type of situation. I'll agree to the meteor getting the win at Madison Square Garden though lol.

Unfortunately, I'm being forced to go there one day a year for my job so the state of New York can feel justified in applying their unconstitutional remote worker income tax law to me.
