This family owned bagel shop was open for 25 years. They had 5 locations. Gone!

Ship does some simple math, which liberals fail at.

This is true but I have to say the very existence of the wall is why I was an open borders person for so long. The only real difference is which direction the guns are facing and I don't trust our government to handle that critical detail. Particularly when Democrats are in charge. Still I think we've learned definitively that walls are necessary.
The federal government was never meant to be this powerful.

An ancillary bit, but related.

Texas just passed California as the state with the most Fortune 500 HQ's. Important to note that this is a result of Corps ditching blue states to thrive in red states. With Dallas taking on the role of more of a world level finance hub, this should only continue.

People and companies are realizing they cannot thrive in blue-swirl states.

One would hope, but I sense the bailouts coming. They will spread the consequences for their poor choices through relief compensation. I suspect that this already occurs on the corporate side with companies raising prices in the sensible parts of the country to stay viable on the west coast.

That doesn't work for very long. When prices rise to the point where someone in a sensible place sees an opportunity we see an increase in competition at which point the corporation trying to subsidize the left coast has to make a decision. We're already seeing those decisions happen when we see stores get closed in places like San Francisco. Whether it's too much theft by customers (shoplifting) or too much theft by the government (taxes) it all impacts the bottom line and stores get closed.

This rationing is actually a feature, not a bug of the Socialst System. Artificially reduce resource availability, then use said resource to control the Hoi Polloi.

Totally agree. I just didn't take the argument out that far. So a company's options are to watch a dwindling market for your expensive product on the west coast or risk losing market share to competitors in the sensible areas. Either way it's bad.
