Running a little over 50% of 2018 in Dallas county, which was the last mid-term with a senate race involved.

So if ftc voted R in the primary for Senator then the county will report that ftc also voted R by mail in the general? Obviously they don't say ftc by name but is that how they track it? Maybe I am misunderstanding what those numbers are indicating.

~85% of the total day 1 + mail in as of 4pm in Dallas. Montgomery already above 100% of day 1 elections 2018-2022

It only counts what primary you vote in. Some of the websites have the data gathered for the past view elections so if they voted in the same primary in the last 3 elections it is a pretty safe bet which way they voted.

Who is tracking who I vote for in each election?

Is it simply a generic person 123 voted in the R primary and has returned a mail in ballot?

And why would the county be tracking mail in ballots by which primary the person voted in?!

So is the general consensus R's are outperforming on day 1?

Depending on who you ask, both sides are both killing it and on the precipice of total disaster. That seems to be the consensus.

Seeing Dallas and Travis in the mid 80s vs 2018 (Beto vs Cruz) while the three heavily red counties are 102-112% of 2018 is a bad sign for freako.

They track by what primary you voted in only. They don't have a record of who you voted for that is available to the public.

In some red suburban areas yes. But in general East Texas carries the GOP state-wide, and that won't come in on day 1 (or even this week). The pattern in OH, PA, and again here is going to be the same, steadily making up ground from day 0 Dem in person early voting imho.

I think some earlier post noted to brace for '3 days of doom and gloom' and then reality to start setting in. If that's wrong overall that is great, but the general trend is for Dem 4/4 voters to show up early and often, while the GOP ones show up on election day/later.

North Carolina would send out your ballot for the upcoming election cycle and let you know who you voted for last election. Pretty funny.

That sucks. Some may be glad Georgia doesn't do that. Imagine being a lawyer there and getting your old ballot reminding you that you voted for Biden / Kamala.

I did my part, but I have a really bad feeling about this one. A lot of affluent white soccer moms from my old stomping grounds seem to be completely brainwashed at this pt. Ken Paxton = Villain and Talarico = Good hearted weakling who wouldn't hurt a fly. I think tiktok and social media has done irreversible damage to the affluent white female demographic.

The vast majority of women have zero business voting, plain and simple. They'll vote for complete societal and cultural annihilation as long as their daughters can kill their grandbabies and they can signal their "empathy" to others.

Keep in mind that Harris County has about 500,000 more registered voters this year than they did in 2018, which was the last comparable mid-term election with a senate seat at stake. Not a huge surprise that their raw numbers are up from 2018. Seeing it as a percentage of registered voters would be more meaningful to gauge it as a measure of turnout.

An Update with Texas Early Voting:

Overall it is a completely crazy day for Texas voting, as you can see in the chart below.

We are looking at comparing to 2024, a presidential election, rather than a midterm today. Insane levels of voting.

This is happening in any county that gives data, so expect so big numbers when we get the full total.

Overall, Trump won counties are doing just as well or better than Harris won ones.

You can't extrapolate too much more than that at this point, but I'd at least read it to mean that everyone and their mother is voting in Texas

I wouldn't look too much into these early voting numbers. One the population has increased but more importantly more and more people are voting early.

That said, early voting lasts for two weeks, I don't understand why someone would wait in line an hour when you can just wait a few days and have your vote count the same.

I went to go vote today, saw the line, and decided to wait until Wednesday or Thursday when the enthusiasm of the true believers dies down.

Can't wait to go hold my nose to vote for corrupt people I despise so that crazy people who would do the state and country lasting economic and social harm have less a shot to win. Yay.

And after you do that, maybe all of us who hold our nose and vote against the crazies, get off our ass and go to local meetings etc and state meetings , call our reps and fuss at the them, just get ten people to show up at their office. ***** with them.

I'm as anti-communist as one can be, but I still need to figure out the local ISD board trustee candidates before I go vote straight R for everything else.

Reminds me of sitting in a church service about 30 years ago and hearing the reverend talk about one of the bishops (relatively unpopular for various reasons) who was retiring and announcing that they were accepting donations to get him a going away gift. Then he noted that "no, if you donate more, he won't retire sooner".

Like Robert Francis, the ads stop if he loses. Vote against radical socialists that pretend you should vote for them due to "affordability", but run for a tax me harder daddy government party and platform that is the opposite of affordability with open borders and ending fossil fuels.

From my experience working polls l, we have to report # of votes at 4 designated times but workers generally don't have time to figure out wait times, nor are they required to.

I'm thinking the same for the female who does the attack ads on Talarico. I don't know her name, but on social media she's being called Temu Eva Longoria.

Put out yard signs today (Abbott and Paxton) to counter the new neighbors who never get sunlight, and don't know how to keep up their lawn/landscaping that put out the typical dem signs.

Was gonna just be part of the silent majority, but want others to know it's okay to counter their culture, and not be scared.

I don't like Paxton personally, same as trump. But if their politics are closer to mine, I'm going with them. The other side is so far gone, I can't imagine I'd ever have anything in common with their stated agendas and goals.

True. Especially only 1 or 2 day numbers are pretty much just irrelevant imho, good or bad. The trend lines are great in any case, as we look forward to not dealing with propaganda polls in a week or so.
