Any limits on gerrymandering at this point are ludicrous. You can't let one state game the system, but then mandate another state carve out districts for the minority party in the other. All or nothing.

They'll do their best to out**** themselves into defeat. This is the Republican party we are talking about.

They miss more layups than our basketball team last season.

The House R's, even with a majority, still have a long way to go in terms of being relied upon.

But it would be hilarious to see Jeffries cry about it when the the Dems have spent the past 2 years acting like a majority for them was inevitable.

They won't until 2028. At which point the GOP will add more in Tennessee, Georgia, and others.

If Florida losses 4 D seats isn't that a net gain of 8 for R?

20R 8 D now.

24 R 4 D when altered.

20 - 12 = 8
I feel so much better since about 11 a.m. CT on 20 Jan. 2025

The risk with over-gerrymandering is you can end up diluting some strong advantages. Instead of your gerrymandered districts being +10 and locked you might have to go down to a +4 or 5 advantage. In a strong wave year some of those districts could flip the other way. That's a bit of my concern with Florida. Some of those red areas are not super strong red. Will still be advantageous on Election Day but not a guarantee that they will win all of those districts.

It'll be okay. The census will be worked out and fewer illegals will be here, too.

I'm just happy to see the Rs FINALLY fighting back instead of always "taking the high road" and allowing the Ds to walk all over them.

Lmao. Wut? It was republicans who started all this. R's added like 10 seats, and only then did Dems ever do anything. I get Viktor Orban is Trump's role model but good lord. Lol

Biden started it by preventing TX from redistricting after the 2020 census. Biden's DOJ came after TX for violating the VRA. Makes the lib tears doubly sweet

That's 100% not true. Look at the meme Infantry just posted. Roughly 40% of New England votes Republican yet somehow how not one red seat. That's gerrymandering. California is 35%-40% Republican yet before this round of gerrymandering they were close to 80% Democrat districts.

When Texas publicly said we're redrawing our lines the governor of Massachusetts spouted off about how Democrats can redistrict too. Everyone laughed at her because she had no seats to gain, her state being maxed out for the Democrats already.

So no, the Republicans most definitely didn't start this.

Let it be so! The dems will be devastate if they don't take back the House. All their impeachment wet dreams go down the tubes.

It stops the left's progress. If nothing else that's the biggie. If if Rinos who do nothing, that nothing stops the left. It's all about stopping the left. Anyone who doesn't understand the enemy of liberty, freedom, and life as we know it is the left is the problem.

The dems have gerrymandered for decades. Look at Illinois and all of the New England states!!

Dems have really maxed out their gerrymandering, otherwise we would see more.

It started with New York following the 2022 election.
Republicans made surprising gains. The New York Democrat Party sued over the map and the New York Court of Appeals, in a very partisan decision, effectively neutered New York's anti-gerrymandering law. New York drew new maps for 2024 and squeezed out two Republican seats. That's when a lot of the Republican states started looking into redistricting.

Not everywhere. Georgia of course couldn't wait to just ignore the new law of the land. But, overall it's positive, and while I wouldn't expect frankly the GOP to hold the House, it is still very plausible this year as a consequence. VA still to be decided makes it tough to predict.

Democrat House theatrics would be horribly entertaining, but also in a way force them to participate in governing, instead of just throwing rhetorical molotov cocktails at the GOP daily.

Plus, it was about 2022 when the results of the 2020 Census started coming out and people realized the numbers had been manipulated. The Census may have happened while Trump was President but the results were not revealed until after Biden's people were in there.

if there were actual legal Census only counting legal citizens

the GOP would net at least another ten seats.

how many people know that in California THEY INCLUDE ILLEGALS IN THEIR CENSUS to then apportion congressional districts?!?!

Lefties had already harvested most of their potential gerrymandered seats. It was past due to reciprocate. .

Now let's get on with the next business … voter verification. Quit piddling and get it done. After that , get rid of RINO's in conservative districts and senate seats.

If only there was a way to define districts by ideology instead of party, we might finally get meaningful conservative representation instead of a bunch of milquetoast pretenders.
