Now if you happen to know of anyone on this side of 2000 worth listening to, I'd love to give them a try.

Jack White. Yeah, technically White Stripes formed in 1997, but his best stuff has come post-2000. His blue album from 2024 is ridiculous.

If Sonny Landreth ain't on that list, the list is meaningless. And Clapton would agree.

I remember hosting a party back in the '70s. I had a whole milk crate full of great rock music ready to play -- the Stones, Queen, Zeppelin, the Allman Brothers, Kansas, Styx, Boston, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles and so on.

But all my buddies wanted to listen to was Sister Rosetta Tharpe and her sexually fluid rock jams.

Rolling Stone is so predictable.

Have you seen "It Might Get Loud"?

Watch the expressions on the faces of The Edge & Jack White when Jimmy Page starts playing "Whole Lotta Love"

Jimmy Page is another of my favorite guitarists.

And the other two in that video are outstanding as well.

Nothing like a sexually fluid rock jam, I always say.

Back in the old days (late 70's; early 80's) I subscribed to Stereo Review.

They did album reviews and had obligatory orgasms for literally anything by the Stones. It got tiresome.

My favorite part is Jack White making that guitar out of a plank, battery, and coil of wire and then rocking out on that thing harder than I ever could with an actual guitar.

Arguably, the best blues guitarist on the planet right now is Joe Bonamassa.

Eric Clapton joined him at Royal Albert Hall:

I forgot about that.

Thanks for the reminder.

I forgot about "Kingfish" Ingram.

Now that kid can play TF out of a guitar.

Ouch!

Another worthy entry.

Money For Nothing is an incredible song and just one of many excellent songs of his.

Btw,

He did a great album with Emmylou Harris

And when asked how if feels to be the best guitarist in the world, Jimi replied "I don't know, ask Roy Clark."

When I heard about that I had to go Google Roy, and damn could he play like his life depended on it.
Definitely deserves to be mentioned.

Money For Nothing gets all the publicity, but Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits had many, many, other songs better than that one.

If you had the choice between getting the shot and never seeing your dad in assisted living again, what would you have done?

Prince was a better guitarist than Hendrix. Hendrix was just unique for his time.

I thank God that I did not have to make that choice.

My wife and I had discussed committing fraud if we ever had to face a similar impasse, but it never came to that for us.

I did have to request a religious exemption to keep my job.

I do not blame anyone for getting the shot under the circumstance you note. You are a victim.

Friend, I don't fault anyone for doing it. I was just remarking that I'm glad I didn't. As for your reason, I totally get it. I would also add that I think it's a crime what people did with mandating this vaccine shot.
