You recall how the Bidens made sure Trump was assigned completely incompetent agents during the last campaign (so he could be assassinated)? Looks like Trump made sure the Bidens got the bottom of the barrel agents in return.

I saw a story where the agent has been there a week, he forgot his cell and when he reached to get it his gun fell out of the holster and shot him in the butt.

I don't know accuracy but that is incompetence.

Latest report was that the SS agent was in another vehicle in the motorcade and shot himself inside that vehicle.

Still a big black eye for the SS at a time when they need no more bad press.

I bet Joe was reaching over the back seat trying to take control of the vehicle when the agent wouldn't take him to the WH and then the agent shot himself trying to wrestle the wheel away from Joe.

Well, she's used to a husband that shoots himself in the foot, so not much change there.

I'm still confused why a SS agent would be handling their weapon in such a setting. Any insights? Would he have had to remove it to go through the metal detector? Wouldn't the TSA just wand him, instead?

It wasn't IN the airport. It was AT the airport.

City police told USA TODAY that the incident occurred near the 1 PIA Way access point and the Pennsylvania Tower at approximately 8:40 a.m.
Initial reports of the incident described the agent as traveling in an unmarked Chevrolet SUV when he "accidentally discharged his firearm."

So the more important question is WHY was this moron butter-fingering his weapon inside a moving vehicle?

I can think of a few scenarios where this MAY have occurred:

1. USSS agent brought unloaded weapon, or weapon with one loaded or partially loaded mag. Was loading mag, inserted mag, and when reholstering the weapon, kept their finger inside the trigger guard. Holstering a weapon in an unfamiliar environment like a car needs to be done very carefully.

2. Became uncomfortable with position of belt and/or holster. Repositioned holster, taking weapon out. See back end of 1 for the rest.

3. For whatever reason, when seated, weapon came out of holster. See back end of 1 for the rest.

4. Agent has recently switched over from 228/9 platform to the Glock and was "working" the Sig pistol controls (decocker) or is used to a heavier trigger pull than on the Glock. For whatever reason, weapon was out of holster and...again, see back end of 1.

If the weapon fired and the wound was in the leg, it is 99.9% a re-holstering issue of some sort.

Sometimes on church security detail, I'll just stick my pistol in my back pocket. I never place a finger on trigger.

Really makes you think

About 20 years ago I lived catty corner to a guy that I think was an FBI agent. Heard him at least twice cuss real loud after dropping his pistol in the driveway while getting into his car for work in the early morning. Luckily it never went off.

Glock flash light problem

"He rushed back to get his cell phone and was using his Glock's flashlight to try to find it in the trunk of the SUV.

When he tried to holster his gun, he shot himself -- yes, right in the butt cheek. "

Why would his cell phone be in the back of an SUV to begin with? He's an SS agent. Doesn't he need his phone to get texts and calls during the assignment?

Set it down to grab a bag or similar. I've done that more than once.

In my elder age if 48, I wear pants with zippers and have an assigned pocket.

Now, what do we think a USSS agent assigned to protective detail can get so rattled by leaving his cell phone in the car that he shoots himself? Probably not the right man in the right role.

Just sayin…
