I really was not following that race either but watched Halperin's show this morning (first time in a long time) and he was citing that NY Post article and stating firmly that he believed Talarico is about to receive a ton of oppo research against him now that they can focus solely on him and not have Crockett as the heat sink.

Yeah, they're actually both horrible candidates. Horrible people, but I guess they had to pick one of them. I'm astounded at how stupid and racist that woman is and yet she just gets such a large part of the vote. That tells you a lot about the Democrat party. It's gross.

Of course we saw Sheila Jackson Lee win for years. We've seen Maxine Waters been in for decades and yes, I know (she's not from Texas, but it's the same type of thing. Scary.

I'm curious your reasons for believing that Talarico is a horrible person. Don't attack me with answer. Give us your reasons.

Actually, he's modified that.

As of early 2026, Donald Trump has made conflicting statements regarding his afterlife, sometimes joking he might not make it to heaven and, in February 2026, stating that he "probably should" get in. While previously expressing skepticism about his chances, he clarified that his earlier comments were meant in jest or to highlight his accomplishments.

Key Points on Trump's Statements:
February 2026: At the National Prayer Breakfast, Trump clarified that his past remarks about not going to heaven were "just having fun," stating, "I really think I probably should make it".

October 2025: Trump previously questioned his standing, telling reporters on Air Force One, "I don't think there's anything going to get me in heaven. I think I'm not maybe heaven-bound".

Earlier Rhetoric: He has frequently connected his political actions and support for religion as factors for his afterlife prospects, often using humor to discuss his salvation.

He has often framed his actions, such as attempting to end the war in Ukraine or supporting religious groups, as actions that could help him get into heaven

Talarico hasn't really been vetted yet. Press just slobbered all over him doing puff pieces, except for the NY Post which did an article about his social media habits which involve prostitutes and Only Fans. Now he is single, as I understand it so his personal life is his but has anyone else even asked him about this?

Not that I particularly care but claiming he is a devout Christian kind of raises questions. Questions he has not been grilled about yet.

As a Deist, but former Catholic (I know, typical Mexican), how does one vet someone about their faith?

Also, seeing as how Trump has said he knows he's not going to heaven and he still has supporters, does it really matter anymore when it comes to pulling the lever for someone?

i get what youre saying, but when someone is saying "God loves abortion- it says so in the Bible", that's about the easiest thing to shut down and the most repugnant thing you could say to Christians. He's so far off the rails with his appeals to religion it makes him a nut.

The most militant athiest and the most hardcore muslim know that no flavor of Christianity is pro-abortion. That's a nut job whackadoo leftist cult opinion.

Okay, that's idiotic of him to say. He should be hit hard on that daily.

I'm curious your reasons for believing that Talarico is a horrible person. Don't attack me with answer. Give us your reasons.

I've only seen a little bit on the guy, but he seems very disingenuous, his religious background seems very fake and not really an alignment with reality. "God is non-binary" for example.

I've seen a few clips of him lately pushing just flat out lies and apparently he had had an abysmal record in his voting.

He's pushing the same bull****, democrat points on the right is pushing the racism and dividing us, is complaining about billionaires, even though the Democrat party is basically supported by them, go look at his page. It's just a bunch of flat out garbage and hypocrisy.

And I'll be honest with you, the guy is creepy looking. He has a Swaggart/Olsteen gross minister feel to him. Like somebody that's absolutely ripping you off with that creepy smile.

Crockett is horrible too. It's just a bad choice either way.

But from his own site, I cannot take anyone seriously that says crap like this, he's trying to sell a tough guy image that he doesn't have on top of ridiculous comments:

The biggest divide in this country is not left vs. right. It's top vs. bottom. Billionaires want us looking left and right at each other instead of looking up at them.

The people at the top work so hard to keep us angry and divided because our unity is a threat to their wealth and power. So their cable news networks and their social media algorithms tear us apart.

They divide us by party, by race, by gender, by religion so we don't notice they're defunding our schools, gutting our healthcare, and cutting taxes for themselves and their rich friends. It's the oldest strategy in the world: divide and conquer.

But we will not be conquered.

We're underdogs in this fight. We're going up against these billionaire mega-donors and their puppet politicians. We're going up against a rigged system. And we're going up against a lot of money.

But I'm a former middle school teacher I don't scare easily. And Texans don't scare easily.

Let me help you a bit, so you don't worry. Islamists are flooding into Texas chasing voucher dollars for Islamic schools. They will block vote for the most liberal Democrats they can find, since the Democrats think Islam is perfect for destabilizing our culture. The Islamists will eventually get enough headway to vote in their Islamic candidates, kicking the infidel Democrats to the curb. The Democrats will be shocked as they lose ground.

So, don't worry! Not much we can do about it now.

Ive met talerico several times, he's extremely nice. But his views are so cynical and designed to obfuscate reality I cant believe he's a good person. The way he uses Christianity to push the inverse of the gospel, to justify castrating children and to promote social policy that didnt even exist 20 years ago makes me think he might have a demon in him.

Republicans are battling between rinos and conservatives for the senate seat.

I saw a lot of chatter about Republicans voting in the D primary in an attempt to get Crockett nominated. I am curious to know how much of that really happened.

There were about 2.1MM votes cast in the GOP primary and about 2.2 MM cast in the Dem primary. That might get people's attention.

Well Teixeira wins the 21st Congressional District (Texas). All I know about the guy who is going to be my next Representative in Congress is that he is "endorsed by Trump, a Christian, a conservative, and a family man". He's a MLB hero, I hear. What I know factually is that he is an out-of-stater. He isn't even a resident of the 21st - but has said he is building a home in Dripping Springs. So, he couldn't vote for himself. His wife could not vote for him.

What a system we have. He backs the President. I'm more interested in how he'll represent me and the residents in the all counties surrounding Kerr County - that are not part of the population dense areas near Austin and the north side of San Antonio.

He may be great. All I know is that he is wealthy, was great in MLB, has lived in the big city all the time, and is... a carpetbagger.

I live in TX-21. Chip Roy didnt live here either.

He came out and threw out the first pitch for our Little League Opening Day a couple of weeks ago. None of the other candidates showed up. At least he's making an attempt to actually live in the district. Most don't.

Some, maybe. A lot? Very doubtful. Runoff elections are typically very low turnout, and those that voted in their own primary can't vote in an R runoff.

I want to take care here because I don't want to push anyone away.

No one deserves heaven. The New Testament is clear on this. Everyone has sinned and come short of the glory of God.

However Jesus came, lived on earth, died for our sins and then was resurrected.

He is the only way to heaven and there are no works you can do to earn your way into heaven.

All you have to do is accept that and receive his free gift that you can never lose

This is the main tenet of what makes a Christian. If someone claims to be a Christian but doesn't know if they are going to Heaven, then that is evidence they are not a Christian. They can go to a Christian church but they aren't a Christian.
