My fact about the Honorable Al Green

" He attended Florida A&M University, Howard University, and Tuskegee Institute, but did not receive an undergraduate degree from any of these institutions. Despite this, Green earned a Juris Doctor in 1973 from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University."

Ok I was a bad Aggie and didn't vote because I didn't know who to vote for in all the races…

I'll vote in the runoffs for sure… just tell me who needs the votes

You can't vote in a run-off if you didn't vote in a primary.

Struck due to knowledge error.

I am shocked. SHOCKED by this information. TSU Law is ranked something like 196th for a reason.

That's not what Harris County is reporting.

Forgive me father for I have sinned…. Sorry, I got busy and was out of the county for most of the day

I did not know I could not vote in a run-off if you missed the primary

That is not correct. If you voted in the primary, you can only vote in that party's runoff. If you didn't, you can vote in either, but not both.

It's incredible how Jasmine Crockett is accusing Republicans of rigging the Texas US Senate Democrat Primary. It makes no sense because some Republicans voted for Crockett in the Democrat primary knowing that she would have had a slim chance of winning the general election. It appears there will be a runoff between John Cornyn and Ken Paxton. I voted for Hunt in the primary, but I will be voting for Cornyn in the runoff because I think Cornyn has a better chance of than Paxton of beating James Talarico in the general election. A general election matchup between Paxton and Talarico would likely be a tossup, and I don't want the risk of Talarico becoming the first Democrat to win a Texas US Senate election since Lloyd Bentsen in 1988.

Dallas County Election Day voting was a total mess. I don't buy it was aimed at Crockett (Allen West is incompetent on his best day), but that's the argument.

Just looked it up and I am mistaken. If you voted in the Democrat Primary then you can not vote in the Republican run-off but you can vote if you didn't vote at all.

Answered my question - There are 42 precincts in Fort Bend County. Most of CD18 in Harris County has never seen Al Green on a ballot before, but they have seen Menefee, so I would expect the Harris County part of the district to pull in Menefee's favor.

Im not sure Talarico is going to motivate Dem voters enough to turn out and make it a toss up, but with Paxton there's certainly more possibility of his baggage being a liability.

I think Cornyn wins the runoff and the general. It's difficult to unseat a long-time Senator in a state where his party dominates.

I think Trump endorses Paxton. He may call Cornyn in for a meeting and offer him the chance to retire for whatever reason he wants to claim before doing so

Gaeilge
How long do you want to ignore this user?
John Cornyn spent almost $80MM in a primary to virtually tie Ken Paxton and take this to a runoff.

This is the problem with the establishment GOP. If they needed to spend that much money just for a fossil to make it to a primary runoff, they're out of touch with their constituency.

John Thune needs to get his head out of his ass and his fingers off this election.

I was just about to post that even of Cornyn wins by the skin of his teeth, he won't change a bit to try to better represent his constituents. He doesn't give a damn about Texans. He only cares about himself.

Herrera pulled to within 1% of Tony Gonzales with 70% of the vote in. Looks like it may be going to a runoff. The squish republican voters in Bexar county along with the West Texas counties are carrying Gonzales.

Lets Go Brandon.

Tony Gonzales was the first example of why a Trump endorsement doesn't mean squat to me. I like Trump, but he's not good at picking guys to endorse. Tony originally ran as a Trump endorsed "conservative". I voted for his opponent, who was a real conservative, in the primary. Tony won though, and as soon as he got up to Washington, he went in with the democrats on the January 6th stuff. Classic backstabbing RINO.

Herrera is now only down by 4 votes. Both of them are at 42.5% and advancing to a runoff.
