Diesel has gone up around .70 this past week. It's gone up much faster than the price of oil. I would like to see a chart of pump prices vs barrel prices over the past 20 years. I paid 4.50 at the pump in DC summer 2006 when oil was 125-150 per barrel. Seems like the pump price always goes up faster than the barrel price and doesn't come back as much. Just keeps creeping up

In this case, you have also had a substantial amount of refining capacity essentially shutoff from the world because they need to send product through the Strait of Hormuz. The Arab countries primarily produce diesel instead of gasoline therefore with them shut down, the global supply of diesel is tightened even further.

If the Strait of Hormuz doesn't open in the next month, you don't want to see what prices will likely be this summer.

Yeah it sucks and I'm not happy about it either, but at least Trump's excuse is we are wiping a terrorist state off the map. Biden's was he trying to wipe out America's energy sector.

Exactly...and if Biden and Obama hadn't sent Iran billions of dollars Trump likely wouldn't need to act but we can't get in the way of a good "gotcha" from the left or CM's.

Never understood why people get so up in arms about oil. Ok it was 8 dollars more to fill up your tank, but you dropped 200 on a dinner last night

I get it but the problem is that it makes the costs of a lot of other things go up as well. Especially when diesel prices go up. Gasoline takes people to the $200 dinner but diesel is what moves products.

I really try not to fret over things I have little control over, but I will soon be driving 1200 miles in my DP and $1.50 more per gallon will take some of the fun away. Not trying to troll here, but why did fuel prices increase under Biden? I know post covid demand played a role and his policies were not oil and gas friendly but oil production hit record highs. Just curious.

Some predictions are saying it will probably go much higher....like $100+

I don't think that will be the case. We'll probably have a spike maybe up to 80 for a week or so.

Comments like this is further evidence that no matter how much you make, it doesn't make you financially responsible.

If he is buying two boats, he better have a few things up his sleeve for the missus too. Though I guess most boats come equipped with instathots as standard equipment these days...

I did some work on the Scharbauer Ranch out near Lamesa. There weren't quite that many well heads visible, but the number of lease ID signs on the gate and the number of locks on the gate turnstile was pretty impressive. Then again, the ranch was 28 sections IIRC.

I've been on the Dean Ranch, fossil hunting. At least that's what is was called 50 years ago. And the Tom Goode Ranch was literally across the fence from my grandparents, who were friends of Tom

When the ranch manager heard I was from Houston, he told me he wanted to take his son to Houston to see rain, since he was only 5 years old and had never seen it. By the time I quit going out there he was calling me Rain Man because every time I went out there, it rained on me at least once.

This, Biden's inflation was due to shear incompetence and pandering to the left. In the end all we got back in return was a big screw you. Trumps excuse is much more palatable.
