Talarico is going to confuse a lot of Christians..."love thy neighbor, etc...but he has no boundary on the other side. People are going to think he is a very center Christian - he is not. He mentions abortion is overblown by the right, but never hints he has even the most basic Christian belief for standing up for the unborn. I believe he is in favor of the right to choose. He says a lot of things that some Christians will agree with like "we should not shove our beliefs down others' throats"...but he appears vague on any topic that a democrat would disagree with him on.
It won't sway any Christians.
It is tolerable if you are a GOP politician that is not staunchly pro-life, especially if you are not a Christian, and don't pretend to be religious.
You can't say that you are pro-choice and also claim to be a devout Christian. Not if you want to get taken seriously by most Christians.
Reasonable people can disagree on the beginning of life from a scientific perspective, and come to different conclusions based on each of their underlying assumptions.
A person can not make a theological case that abortion is OK when it comes to Christianity. It just isn't. If you are trying to play both sides on that issue, you are not genuine, and have no intellectual honesty.
