I know Austin is run by Dems, but seeing this kind of police response and the swift response by their PD is very nice to see.

It's typically not the LEOs that are the problem. It's the DA who will plea that down to misdemeanor disturbing the peace and the judges who will accept those pleas.

I thought same. Too easy. Usually when they do a drive by punch, they haul ass and or strut out out like they badass for doing a blindside. Guy did neither, like he was waiting on cops.

Where's that cruiser come from? No one even called anything in, based on how well you can hear everyone talking it'd be loud and clear.

Maybe was an earlier altercation that had been brewing and everyone knew something was gonna go down, but in that case seems dumb to wait around and have someone get sucker punched.

Considering that she said "and I arrested you last night too cause you run your mouth", they were shadowing these two guys because they had reasonable suspicion to know something like this would happen. Wasn't their first run in with the cops

Yep. I know a guy who has been an APD officer for over 20 years. Those are good men and women and they hate city and county leadership. Because of leftists, APD has about the same number of officers they did when he started despite a huge population growth.

I agree and they shouldnt be on the street to commit more crimes. However, finding a city liable for their terrible judges is a long way away. Fortunately, these officers are doing their job and were able to prevent it from getting worse

Because he knows the court system/ judge will not do anything to him. Class C misdemeanor and a 50$ fine probably which he can plead no contest to…

So correct. And if the victim of a crime or a friend or family member of a crime victim should decide to retaliate via vigilante justice, I hope he or she gives due consideration to not only the perpetrator but also the DA and judge that were too lenient.

6th in the 80's and 90's was top notch.
Our society is really circling the drain.
It's really sad. There is no concept of the greater good or social contract anymore.
I'm not saying 6th street was Pleasantville but people on general weren't as completely self absorbed as they are now….in every aspect of society.
