The administration of President Donald Trump on Thursday announced the repeal of a scientific finding that greenhouse gas emissions endanger human health, removing the legal basis for federal climate regulations.
It also ended subsequent federal greenhouse gas emission standards for all vehicles and engines of model years 2012 to 2027.
The move represents the most sweeping climate change policy rollback by the administration to date, after a string of regulatory cuts and other moves intended to unfetter fossil fuel development and stymie the rollout of clean energy.
So, if you want to buy a 10 mpg gas guzzler, go right ahead.

Okay Toyota, ball's in your court. Bring back the V8 Tundra by 2028 when I'll be shopping for a new truck.

This might be the best policy stance Trump has taken in this term. The impact of environmental regs is killing this country, both in the increased cost of living to the American consumer and the cost of compliance for American businesses which impacts our ability to compete in the global markets. And it was all implemented over a left wing lie by the Democrats.
Outstanding Trump. Glad to see he's not taking his foot off the gas. Literally.

This means nothing. The next big change for spec changes is due in late 2028 or 2029. You guessed it when the next President will be in office. If it's a Republican that helps but if it is a Democrat all this stuff will be back in. I expect little change to plans until then

Not auto related, but add all the mandated refrigerant changes over the years to the list as well.
