First thing I thought about when I saw that. With a straight drop like that, she might break and ankle or leg, but the face hitting a board like that could be deadly.

The wife of a guy I know was going to straighten a picture or painting on her wall. She grabbed a footstool, apparently not one that should be stood on. As I recall, it was about a foot tall. She fell off it and hit her head on a coffee table or end table and died.

Another reason a bit of aging and or kids are absolutely no excuse for letting yourself go. Lugging around what amounts to a bag of concrete on your hips or in your gut 24/7/365 is no good for men or women. It also helps to not put that extra weight on 1/2" of drywall. It's literally 2 sheets of heavy paper and some chalk.

As someone that's missteped working in the attic, lemme tell you it's gonna hurt once the adrenaline wears off

My 15 year old recently learned to this lesson, but just with one leg. I've known of plenty of people putting a part of themselves through a ceiling but I've never heard of someone falling all the way through.

She luck she wasn't standing over something painful to land on as well

I think she had her daughter video it, so the daughter could learn how to fix things….so she won't need a man, either.

My wife once tried getting something out of the attic when I wasn't home. Yep, fell through the ceiling in the garage. Once I fixed the sheetrock, I decked everything above the garage. She now has go and no-go zones that she can safely retrieve things in the attic.

I've gone all the way through. Wiring my house for cat 6 and was working over our bedroom with 12 foot ceilings. Previous owner had some fence pickets in the attic and I lost focus while fishing a wall and stepped on one. Straight through with the only slowdown being my arms trying to catch me while passing through. They didn't slow me down much. Landed on the dresser like a ninja somehow that's beyond me so at least I didn't drop the full 12 feet. Took about 30 minutes before I felt the pain.

My five year old son was watching through the attic access door and saw the whole thing. Needless to he was freaked the **** out.
