It's marketing propaganda. It takes work to get as fat as the guy is in this ad. You seriously have to try and get that fat.

And now we are supposed to feel bad about it and guilty for asking the question, "How did you let yourself get that fat?"

As someone that was 636lbs/6'7" at one pt, it takes zero work to get that fat. Just eating a metric **** ton, all day, e'ry day.

Now am 275 to 280, depending. At 6'6". No drugs, just eating like a human and not ten humans.

Dang you literally are Big Rob. Congrats on the weight loss!

I believe there are some people that simply can't help it. Either there's something wrong with their system such as metabolic syndrome since childhood. I'm not talking about your average dude that just got fat after being married and drinking beer. I mean the whole life obese people. I don't think they can change. And if medication can help them, it's probably worth the side effects.

The key word there is "some". Our traditional food system has not helped matters, but no one else on this planet had/has the obesity rates that we do. Most obese people put themselves there. Despite our food system, we've known for decades now what to eat and how to eat to stay healthy. There is really no excuse. And the fact that we got so fat as a country that being obese became a source of pride with a message that being obese is healthy is 1984 level propaganda.

Having said that, I applaud everyone on here who has lost weight however you did it. I'm 52 now and it's damn harder to maintain my fitness goals. I've had constant setbacks since I turned 45 between shoulder surgery, back surgery, two frozen shoulders in addition to surgery, unexplained nerve issues that come and go, etc. so I can relate to the battle to maintain your fitness. Through all of that the main thing I could control was my diet since exercise became very much sporadic at times.

And, I applaud you even if it's the shot which I have zero hate towards. The larger picture with those shots is that if it gets people out of our healthcare system down the road then I'm all for it. I just don't understand the point of the commercial in trying to shame the rest of us. It's like some sort of anti-normal ad to make us feel bad. You put yourself there so it's up to you to solve it. I'm also leery of the long-term effects of these shots which I'm not sure anyone truly understands yet.

Have seen this ad multiple times during the NFL playoffs. I hate it. I think it's intellectually insulting. I also think this person is not real and is AI which is largely irrelevant.

for the first time in my life I am watching my Youtube podasts the past week

suddenly there is a "50s year old Asian man" who is buff like Schwarzenegger at the Mr. Universe contest.

he is saying "the gym breaks your bones, you need Tai Chi"

and then when you read the very small print it says:

"AI GENERATED ACTOR"

unbelievable!!

I wonder if the hot woman "interviewing" the AI is also AI!!

This.

A friend of mine was very big into the "I'm big and beautiful and sexy, etc." back when she morbidly obese but supposedly healthy.

She got on one of the shots a couple of years ago and actually is physically attractive and when i pushed her about why the use of the drug when she was healthy she just said it was to help her be even healthier. I then asked her if she thought she was more attractive now than she was then and she admitted that she was.

It was all a lie for those that got it when there was no real medical reason to get it other than to lose weight.

636, Dam Sun

Had an aunt that was like a whale. She blamed metabolism, thyroid, genetics etc. My uncle started having an affair and they got divorced. She shed the weight like a snake shed it's skin. This was way back before meds, stomach stapling, etc. She simply started eating right again.

Had gastric, which saved my life, and dropped to 350. Then eventually gained weight to 430ish, lost down to 380 or 390 for awhile. Then lost 40 and was 350ish for years. Lost 80lbs or so about 18months ago and stayed in that area since.

To the couple posters that mentioned massive weight loss and keeping it off- congrats!! That is incredible.

To add my story-- I lost 25 pounds ten years ago.. 210 to about 185. I did it via exercise and a little better diet. Took me from a BMI in the overweight range to healthy range. Even with that sorta modest weight loss, in comparison to you guys, when I look at old pictures I feel like I look a totally different person. Much more bloated.

It's a good ad. I like it when the message is "STFU AND MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS".

It's not just fat people that have to work at being healthy. Most people aren't. Just because you're a "healthy weight" doesn't mean you're healthy. I know overweight people that are far healthier than their "normal" weight peers. Genetics is a mother****er and some of us need to work at it to stay healthy. As a young man, I had trouble gaining weight. I could burn through 3500 calories a day…eating anything I wanted and never gain a single pound. I would do exactly that to gain any sort of weight at all. Not exactly healthy. Now that I'm older, my metabolism slowed down a bit and it's easier to maintain a "proper" weight whatever the hell that is. Hard to tell since they move the goalposts on health every 4 months. Either way, if I eat 3,000 calories now, and then Go outside and do any minuscule amount of physical ranch work, I'll still lose weight.

I think the best thing is for people to just mind their own *********business unless it's a loved one that you have a vested interest in or someone that has pinged you for help.

I have no idea of someone else's struggle in life and I'm in position to comment on it. I have no idea what it's like to feel hungry all day long and know I can't grab a tasty snack because it will cost me. I eat what I want when I want it, all day, any day, I don't have a single inkling of what someone with different genetics suffers through.

Genetics...schmetics.

This is FAR less common than people think. I know its a struggle for alot of people, but its more likely than not a question of will and lifestyle choices. Not some genetic component.

Genetics matter, but if this was mostly genetics then the whole planet would be morbidly obese like America is.

This is primarily an outcome of bad choices.

another spam fake scam for the "health" industry!!

In early 2026, a massive wave of AI-generated commercials for Tai Chi-based fitness apps has flooded social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok. These ads are widely criticized as deceptive "slop" or potential scams by the fitness and martial arts communities.

AI-Generated Actors: The commercials feature hyper-realistic digital personas, such as "Master Lee" or ripped 70-year-old men, who do not exist in real life. Some include small disclaimers stating "AI-generated characters for entertainment purposes".

Misleading Claims: A central pitch is that "the gym doesn't work after 50" and that doing Tai Chi for just a few minutes a day can lead to a bodybuilder-level physique. Traditional practitioners note that while Tai Chi has health benefits, it does not typically build massive muscle mass as shown in the ad

High-Volume Output: One company behind these ads, MadMuscles (operated by AmoApps Limited), reportedly launched over 18,000 unique AI-generated ad variations between mid-2025 and early 2026.

Technical Origin: These videos often use advanced generative tools like Google's Veo 3 or Sora, which can create short clips with synchronized sound and dialogue for a fraction of the cost of traditional filming.
Common Consumer Complaints

These ads are part of a larger shift where nearly 40% of all creative video ads in 2026 are expected to be built or enhanced using generative AI. Major streaming platforms like Netflix have also announced plans to integrate similar AI-generated ad content by the end of 2026

Pharma doesn't get them fat. That is self induced by the individual. The weight comes back because they won't make the permanent lifestyle changes to keep the weight off. Don't blame Pharma. Blame the individuals.

Food companies are making their foods addictive. You eat all that processed food and you're body does not produce the enzymes that tell you "I'm full" and it tastes good so you keep eating.

Yes, the individual bears some responsibility, but it's like the cigarette companies adding all those chemicals to make their product more addictive.

It's all genetics. There's a fairly fixed, age based number for how many calories you're going to metabolize per day based upon your genetics. You can move more and burn more. The problem is too many people eat more than they need to. In a sense, the people who burn fewer calories are genetically superior. In the olden days when humans had to work hard to get enough food to survive, those with efficient metabolisms had an easier time of it, Probably why it's so common today - genetic selection for those with the most efficient metabolisms.

It's more than permanent lifestyle changes. People don't get over 300lbs/30% bodyfat unless they're emotional eating, They have to get your mental health in check and understand what internally is driving the urge to eat. The US don't really have a robust system in place to help people with this, and most people can't internalize and be self reflective enough to figure it out on their own

I was 6'6 320 at my heaviest. I've hovered around 220 for the last 4-5 years but when the emotional/stress eating kicks in I can gain 10-15lb pretty quickly. Most people aren't prepared to do the tough work to look inside at what caused them to keep eating or put a stop to it when the notice the behavior starting up again.

To be fair to Eli Lilly retatrutide is that good. It has taken the bodybuilding and fitness world by storm because it trivializes cutting without causing you to lose muscle mass provided you maintain a high protein diet and do resistance training.

The results I am seeing from people are nothing short of miraculous.

It's a far superior drug in every conceivable way to any of the 3 on the market right now: semaglutide, tirzepatide, or liraglutide.

Obesity is not going to exist in 10 years, that's where we are going now. You guys need to see the current research into glp drugs, at least the newer ones beyond semaglutide (ozempic).
