Glad that's settled.
I'm old enough to remember when Trump was Putin's puppet.

It's as simple as this:
Denmark already agreed back in 2009 to let Greenland be able to vote for independence.
Up until now they haven't done so because they are dependent on economic aid from Denmark
But if the US makes them a better offer and they declare independence and enter into a compact of free association and defense with the US, then what is there to complain about other than Dems being unhappy that their masters in foreign communist countries continue to lose.

There is already nothing stopping American businesses from doing business there. We already have a military presence there and we are allowed to ask them to expand that if we want.

American mining companies are also allowed to develop mining operations there.

I read up on this yesterday. Greenland can vote/request independence but Denmark then has to approve it. Obviously, if I'm Greenland and the US offer is too good to turn down then I go through motions of voting for independence. And when Denmark says no, then I ignore Denmark. What is Denmark going to do at that point? Demand to the UN and the EU that their colonialism should stand? It's a lose-lose situation for Denmark.

If they become an independent nation then it's only their decision.

All of this at the discretion of Denmark which should be the case since it's their territory.
But if it's not their territory going forward then you have more freedoms and access directly with Greenlanders.
I guess I thought that was obvious.
