The only reason DOJ went after Cuellar is he left the Democrat reservation and went after Biden on the open border, and opposed his party's radical shift on abortion.

And this thread quickly because derailed by Windy City Ag about something which is completely irrelevant to the topic of the thread.

Accepting $600K in bribes from Azerbaijan probably has something to do with it too.

Spare me your moral outrage.

If Biden pardoned him, you'd be silent or defending it.

Yes, and three people have already pled guilty to the charges.

Quote:

A woman from Houston was the third person to plead guilty in the investigation of U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar and his wife Imelda Cuellar for alleged bribery and money laundering, according to a recently unsealed plea agreement.

It was first reported by the San Antonio Express-News.

During a hearing closed to the public on May 1, the same day Henry and Imelda Cuellar were indicted, the Express-News reported that 67 year old Irada Akhoundova secretly entered a guilty plea to a charge of failing to register as a foreign agent for the country of Azerbaijan.

Cuellar's former campaign manager, Colin Strother, and another consultant, Florencio "Lencho" Rendon, were the first two people to plead guilty in the investigation. They admitted to helping the Cuellars launder more than $200,000 in bribes from the Mexican Bank Banco Azteca.

I haven't seen one word around here on the pardon of the ex Honduran president--known and convicted of drug trafficking and creating narco state.

Careful, you'll be accused of supporting drug trafficking somehow. You've questioned dear leader's hypocritical messaging versus actions!

Juan Orlando Hernandez's accusations were a mile high and a mile deep. A witness connected to his brother that was under federal custody, who was on his way to being convicted, somehow was conveniently murdered in a maximum security prison in Honduras under his presidency. Not a single word on this on here.

It's probably the worst pardon handed out. while we're bombing narco boats in the Carribean.

As an avid Trump supporter, I will say this pardon is indefensible. Sure, it's his right to do as president, but he shouldn't have done this.

This right here. I used to live in Cuellar's district. For a democrat he was OK and that pains me to say. His troubles did not start until he came out against the open border (very unpopular in South Texas) and the disgusting no rules on abortion stuff (also very unpopular).

Very third world slimy stuff by the Biden DOJ. But, yeah, Trump is weaponizing the DOJ.

Also, I'm not saying Cueller is innocent. I'm just saying they looked the other way until he got off the reservation.

There's at least 1 he actually did himself. Had to cover for his bribes.

The Republicans could use a few congressman like Cuellar. He has always been diligent about representing his district. He has been staunchly pro-life and taken a lotta flack for supporting R's.

The Dems went after him hard the last two elections, yet he pulled it out with little national help.

Trump pardoning Hernandez is about as bad as it gets. The man presided over blood thirsty killers and rapists and enabled the absolute rotting of Honduran society. Shame on that blow hard Trump for doing that. Might as well just reach out to Chapo Guzman.

These politicians, on either side, have no decency, morals, nor principles. And Trump just proved it immaculate.

If those numbers are correct, Trump has plenty of time to beat Obama, and if he auto pens early enough, even Biden.

The Democrats created the environment of selective prosecution.

Crimes committed by Democrat's criminal leniency are several orders of magnitude more numerous then crimes committed by Trump's pardons. We are talking about murders, rapists, thieves numbering in the hundreds of thousands.

So because the Dems are pos criminal enablers it's ok for republicans do it? Maybe Trump could just…not pardon convicted global drug trafficking kingpins?

Yeah maybe. Maybe we don't have the full story. Maybe its a mistake. Maybe he's just letting money talk.

If its a miscarriage of justice it sucks. It just doesn't move the needle.

Are you really staying up at night because of your outrage over this? Are you doing something about it? Calling your congressman? Picketing The White House?

No?

Yeah, I don't really give a ****, either.

Of course not. Like any good American my outrage is limited to complaining about it on the internet. Was just pointing out that it's ok to say Trump is wrong on this, even if the Dems do it too.

I'm well aware of what "got him fingered". And I don't think he's a saint, just like any other politician, but, what got him prosecuted was getting off the plantation and Old Boss man Biden wasn't going to allow that.

Trump's even fighting back against the lawfare of the Trump DOJ!
Quote:

President Donald Trump pardoned Oak View Group CEO Tim Leiweke on Wednesday, months after the live entertainment mogul was indicted on charges of conspiring to rig the bidding process for an arena in Texas.

Leiweke is alleged to have conspired with the CEO of a rival company to rig the bidding process for the development and use of a public arena that would have gone on the campus of a university in Austin, Texas.

Trump granted Leiweke clemency in an order on Wednesday, though he did not offer an explanation for the move.

Leiweke was facing up to 10 years in prison and a $1 million fine based on his charges.

Prosecutors say Leiweke negotiated a deal with a rival company that prevented that company from filing a rival bid for the development of the arena. In exchange, Leiweke allegedly agreed to give the rival company the arena's subcontracts.

Guy was indicted and though this guy certainly appears to be a shady cat I think there is some debate on whether what he did actually broke the law.

I vaguely recall the scandal but not the politics involved. Why not have DOJ just drop the case? Who knows. But if he was indicted in June of 2025 it's a Biden DOJ case from the start.

Trump seems to be in a pardoning mood. If I was Pelosi, Comey, Biden family, etc I would be seeking one before Trump gets stingy. Lots of crooks out there on the left that need to meet justice.

He was on Fox last night saying that is not happening. He will remain a "conservative Democrat".

So he gets a pardon he was not expecting and evidently did not request and his response is that he will continue living his life as a unicorn.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt reiterated that statement at a press briefing on Monday, rejecting that Gentile was part of a Ponzi scheme.

"This is another example that has been brought to the president's attention of the weaponization of justice from the previous administration, and therefore, he signed this commutation," Leavitt told reporters.
