You know, conservatives don't HAVE to be *******s, right?

I can just roll out of bed and look 'professional'. But blacks have hair that isn't naturally accepted as 'professional' so they do have to spend a lot of time, effort, money to straighten their hair or buy wigs, etc. You were born with an opportunity they just don't have. I don't think they're asking for some special treatment, just the opportunity to spend as little effort on their hair as you do.

What are you talking about? Are you bald?

When I wake up, my gorgeous blond hair looks like crap.

After I shower, wash, condition, dry, comb or brush, then, it looks pretty good.

And because my hair grows so fast, when I was in the Fightin Texas Aggie Band, I had to get my hair cut on Thursday afternoon, right before haircut inspections. If I got it cut on Monday or Tuesday like other folks, it would be too long by Thursday.

I thought the Post you responded to was sarcasm when I first read it.

I guess the dude is bald. No white person, male or female, rolls out of bed and heads to work.

Unless one is a Basic with a skinhead from that haircut one received in Basic.

Abbott signs into law CROWN Act banning race-based hair discrimination

Gov. Greg Abbott over the weekend signed into law a bill prohibiting race-based hair discrimination in Texas workplaces, schools and housing policies. It goes into effect in September.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The ignorance/disinterest of Texas politics on this board is pathetic.

"Disinterest"?

Or....and follow me here....that was a while ago, and was stupid as **** then, and still is, now.

This idea that there is "hair racism", in Texas or elsewhere, isn't based even remotely on fact nor reality.

Well. They are.

The fact that they are asking to be treated fairly and you thinking they are asking for something special is telling

lol. Literally passing an unnecessary, virtue signaling law about hair is the definition of asking for something special.

Yours is not a serious post. Complete clown world.

Really? Where was your moral high horse when Abbott did the same thing?

I wasn't aware Abbott did this or forgot about it. He's a clown for pushing it as well.

Abbot simply does not have the ability to stand up or stand against things that he should. Very disappointed with him in this regards.

He certainly does not walk the walk of a conservative. Time to put the wheels in motion to find a new governor.

I see what you did there. Clever.

You're not entirely wrong. It's hard for me to give a damn about local or state politics. Living in Austin I feel helpless and completely at the mercy of whatever strikes the fancy of delusional leftists that populate and run this city. I vote (usually) but that's about it. It's hard to get interested in what flavor of socialism the locals are squabbling about.

Statewide politics seem caught up in a bunch of crap that doesn't matter to me as well. State politicians are also very underwhelming, like a bunch of petty little turds fighting over meaningless stuff and stabbing each other in the back. You pay serous attention to it?

Many states, including Texas, already have this kind of law in place. But now you're outraged? They are silly laws but already exist. Maybe do a little independent research?

Its a dumb law anyway. How would a person even prove that they were discriminated against due to their hair?

This is just going to lead to excess litigation

Prove? All they have to is claim they were and get paid for it.

The government can't and should not discriminate, but private employers should totally be allowed to, especially during the hiring process.

You can use buzzwords like selective or judicious if it makes you feel better.

Why not? Discrimination has been allowed, and even encouraged, for decades now

The government needs to be impartial or at least have the appearance of impartiality, or else you get instances like covid vax mandates and the discrimination the government was willing push along with them. Affirmative action is another one. Discrimination by the fed is bad for its citizens.

Private citizens, business and enterprises are completely different and should be able to discriminate at will.

Yes, It does.

But it's not, and hasn't been for a long time.

Why do you have a hairbrush? You don't have any hair.
