Maybe the largest slippery slope in our lifetime and neither is a good option. US police state through Palantir or losing the AI war to China? Feels like a no-win situation for the US civilian.

Sure easy to say when you stand to gain billions in the process. To show that he is okay with it, why doesn't he release all of his personal info to stand in solidarity with us plebs?

Losing the AI race/war to China is an extremely dangerous risk. I'm not sure we have to forfeit privacy to do it, but big players on all sides are using vast quantities of public and unencrypted private data to train their AI models.

"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

He is a socialist, so of course he wants to give up privacy.

There's absolutely nothing altruistic in his drive to beat China to the punch

He doesn't care about actual people

"All of us will have to work 90 hour weeks like they do in China" - that's next

I'm so ****ing tired of this bull***** These guys don't give a **** about anything other than their wallets. And it's percolating down to the workforce

Yup, from my experience of a lot of execs like this , is that they have zero empathy / thought for anyone else.
They work 90 hour weeks and can't fathom why the rest of us don't.

I listened to part of an interview with him on CNBC a few days ago and he wasn't remotely socialist...in that interview. What I heard from him I agreed with. He came across as pretty honest, frank, and realistic.

I haven't listened to the interview in this one, but I'm not down with anymore privacy intrusion if that's what he's proposing.

If you think the governments aren't already doing this, you are a fool. They are 100% using AI to plan a future with more control over the population.

I hate that about the future. I hate that we give up our ability to talk **** about anyone and speak our minds... That will all end in the next 20 years.

His business partner Peter Thiel has said similar things and said we either implement something like their system or lose to China. They are trying to compare this to the Manhattan project...which may not be far off.

AI control is the next step for the military, both parties are trying to control their equipment via AI.

Like ChatGPT, that assisted in a young man's suicide.
Sorry, I don't believe him, my money is on his desire to obtain everyone's personal information to monetize the data.

I hope they won't decide it is better to hire some H1B scumbags from India instead "just because they are cheap".

I am so sick of this crap. I know a lot of you don't agree, but this whole AI thing is WAY overblown. We should absolutely not give up anymore privacy or allow any type of government subsidies under the guise of "winning".

Here's what will happen.

These so called AI companies have spent way more money on infra than they should have. FOMO. Now they won't be able to monetize it. And investors want their money back they will demand bailouts from public money. Our idiot politicians will give it to them "so we can compete with China".

The companies will layoff employees, and move jobs to India, to show they are making progress

Palantir already said they are working with the US government which means they already have your data. Sadly the Patriot Act ended privacy a long time ago.

These corporations will be the one to implement the social credit score and the government will stay out of their way and allow it (they are all on the same team afterall).

Muh private corporation conservatives will look awfully stupid pretty soon.

Everything these CEOs say is just more proof towards my hypothesis that US CEOs (and increasingly foreign) are all disgusting scumbags who just have the goal of enriching themselves at any cost - ethics, morals, nothing, absolutely nothing matters. The moment they cross the line into doing illegal stuff, jail them for 20 years.

When I started this campaign on TA around 2021 or so, I was alone. Now a lot more have joined as they see what goes on in the name of capitalism. CEO bootlicking, while still exists, is not as prevalent.

I hope this becomes a movement and brings about change.

Well, he says he's a socialist. So there's that.

And he flat out says toward the end of that interview posted above that of course you should be worried about surveillance, but if China beats us to the punch, it'll be worse.

So there's also that

Every US company is like this. Thanks to trash CEOs and trash American corporate culture. I am very sad to say as I have seen better days for our corporate culture. Now everyone is afraid of getting laid off every day. How can anyone be innovative anymore? CYA culture has skyrocketed.

Palantir is a big name right now. Even if he works there a year or so, he can always switch to something else. No one works in any company beyond 2 years anymore.

The best option to make money in America going forward ----> be an investor. Make H1B slaves work for you. America is not a place to work hard anymore.

Everyone who listens to this advice, thank me later. Nothing else needed, I am happy if I helped even one Ag.
