I very rarely accept a blind date because single, female gold diggers and misfits over 50 years old are plentiful. I agreed only because she is the sister of a dear friend's wife. My friend told me not to do it because she is a liberal loon, but I gave in to his persistent wife only because we get along very well. I made a big mistake by not taking my friend's advice.

I picked her up at 7 PM up at her home. When I opened the car door for her, she noticed my red, Make America Great Again hat on the back seat, where I left it after playing golf that morning.

Before I closed her door, she asked, "Good God, you aren't one of those MAGA crazies, are you?"

I did not reply, and decided to ignore her question as I got into the car. When we began to drive away, she said, "You didn't answer my question."

I answered, "I'm a conservative and proud of it."

She responded with, "You need higher standards."

I circled her block, stopped in front of her home, and said, "Our evening is over. Good night."

She was equally stunned and clearly pissed, and after a very awkward silence of about 10 seconds, she got out of the car and I left.

If she was trying to be cute or to make jokes, she will know to not do so with insults.

My friend told me that she ranted to his wife about me being an "obnoxious fool." Oh, well.

I would happily pay for her deportation.

It might have been amusing to answer that first question with "No, am not. Because that would mean like one of the MSM caricatures you no doubt are referring to. Any positions hold are very considered ones."

On #1 - I would flip that around. There aren't that many women attractive enough to men to be in a relationship with. The internet has allowed women to be more....like women. Which is to say, they excel with social media and extrovert behaviors (including whining and complaining) while most men do not look for those sorts of things in a woman they want a relationship with (as opposed to just sex). This ties in to #3 on your list.

Unfortunately, I'm in the dating world as a 47 year old divorced father of three. I work a lot and at all hours and days as an ops manager for an O&G service company. Needless to say, I don't have the time to go out nor a place to meet women. I have tried dating apps. You would not believe the acidic things women put in their bios on these. Given my proximity to Austin a lot of women from there pop up. Stuff like "MAGA need not apply" followed by middle fingers are the most common. You never see the opposite though. And I certainly don't write anything like that. I really don't care what your political leanings are when we just might be having dinner. The thing that kills me though is it always says the same thing "Lives in Austin, Tx. From (insert random city), California. They're destroying Texas like a cancer.

Truth. I live in the reddest county in CO and it was horrible dating in your 40s. Luckily found a great one and going strong for 1.5 years now.

I checked this out on my friends (male) and found that this was true. All my friends who took stands on issues in an emotional way were all libs/dems. Very limited reasoning. Many were under the thumb of their wives too.

I have traveled everywhere, nothing to beat living in America. We are all so lucky.
Yes, there are bad things here as well, but overall, taking everything into account, this is the BEST place to live.

Let's keep it that way. By not importing 3rd world trash (just bring in the best). And not selling out to foreign countries.

My wife's sister and family are east coast liberals, each person in the family has two or three degrees. After every mass shooting she would launch into the need for gun control, common sense gun control. The last two times this happened, I asked what that would entail if the goal was to stop shootings. She never could come up with an answer. I tired of her and remarked that what she really wanted was gun confiscation. She no longer speaks to me, lol.

It is also true that if you talk with people who argue all their issues with how they would like the world to be as a condition instead of how the world actually is, they are a liberal 100%. My brother is that way. He loves to argue issues like welfare or climate change or whatever in an "ideal world" where everybody is morally upright and nobody steps in to game the system and take advantage of things for their own benefit. But in the real world, that ALWAYS happens and to set up any system that ignores it is to setup a system designed to fail.

I confess that I was like that, 20 years ago. I used to think in idealistic terms. Very naive.
Until one day reality slapped me across the face really badly.

Now I have swung the other way, probably too extremely. I can see things that many cannot. I guess that is how we evolve. My default opinion is that the world is a terrible place with spots of goodness.

IMO its a bit more subtle. There can be idealists and good rulers and good policy. But no real effective way to pass that on, to transmit. It dies with that leader. Our Founders were clever in basically designing a system that part of the time gets in its own way. Because as said, there is NO way to make sure a "good style of rulership" is passed on. Even a blood son will often not measure up, let alone some designated successor.

So the most you can get is a "good period of rule" but not a "good government." So you can't devise policies that won't be "gamed" or "taken advantage of." So it is best to make sure what you do has sunset clauses, and is time specific, and not excessively powerful. If you say both sides are going the opposite direction currently, you are probably correct.

I get that argument. My counter would come from a Christian perspective that it is man who elevates. A woman doesn't elevate her man (women do.other things so not saying men are better here). So if a woman is "less deserving" a man will elevate her.

This is biblical when you look at the perfect bridegroom and his (imperfect) bride. Christ and the Church. For a more real example you could look at Hosea. In both instances the Groom elevates the bride.

So the potential brides might be lacking, but it serves no point to be with a man who can't / won't elevate her. That is why I argue it is men that must right themselves first. Saying there are no good prospects is just an excuse to forego the responsibility of the calling of being a man.

Side note, both men and women should be married to Christ. So a man nor woman doesnt need marriage. However entering into a marriage is a desire often found in the heart of men and women as it allows them to reflect relationship they have with Christ on earth (though way more flawed).

The bolded points on average do not compute as I grew up in SA and and am currently living at the ranch in South Texas. I assume you mean for women who have not had a child because what I see is for the vast majority the first baby adds 50 lbs, then a minimum of 25 lbs after every subsequent child.
