Kentucky Pastor Breaks Down In Tears After Church Receives Flood Of Donations For Offering To Buy Food For A Hungry Baby

A woman on TikTok called churches asking for baby formula because SNAP benefits ran out (as a "social experiment"), and many either turned her away or made her apply for help.

But a small church in one of the poorest areas of Kentucky immediately said yes and asked only what kind of flavor formula the baby needed.

The video went viral, and that church has since received tens of thousands in donations (I think over 100k now).

The tiktok girl even attended their service this Sunday even though she had said she was an atheist.

It's a good reminder that there are still churches out there quietly doing the real work.

*maybe this belongs in religion, but since the TikTok user was focused on SNAP it felt appropriate here*

You love to see the churches doing good even for those that don't attend their church, or in this case, even believe in God.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8
Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.

That's great stuff by the Pastor.

Am I just too cynical to get beyond thinking that this was a bit of a bull**** "gotcha" thing by the tiktoker?

Yep, dark looking neck tats, nose piercing. She probably wanted me and my family to suffer immensely for not getting the experimental cold vaccine...but I hope this somehow changed her and she is no longer a disgusting liberal.

I also don't believe her...that numerous churches basically hung up on her after expressing a need for baby formula. We have to remember that liberals lie constantly and cannot be trusted. Especially when making social media videos for attention and clout. They are worse than the Muslims with their "Taqiyya".

There are countless people who take advantage of church charities. Many have policies to try and prevent abuse especially from those looking to score cash or convert things easily to cash and then buy drugs. If you ask for help paying a utility bill, for instance, the church will simply pay it directly rather than giving money to the person asking.
The left cannot kill the Spirit of Charlie Kirk.

I do believe her, I left a church at one point and my parents stopped tithing to it because when a member became disabled they wouldn't give us the money to build him a wheelchair ramp at his house because "we need that money for silverware" the justification being that the church down the road had just updated all their flatware.

Now my dad instead of tithing has a group of retired guys that pool their money and do construction and repair work on people's houses who need it.

I've also seen other pastors who have a servant's heart, and would give you the shirt off their back and run their church accordingly.

I watched some of the videos where they said no, they seemed very Kenneth Copeland / Joel Osteen wannabes. Million dollar stage in front of seating for 500.

I think she picked churches that she thought would say no and that she thought would say yes to make good content. Regardless of her intent, I'm so happy that the person that is getting most of the press is this Preacher & church.

I think the fact that she was able to likely pick the ones that would say no tells you more about those types of churches than anything else.

I have been a volunteer benevolence coordinator in our church for the past 2 years. Our church has been very generous with our church members, primarily with rent/mortgage and/or utilities per our benevolence policy. At times we have helped with medical bills, car repairs, etc. Since the need is great within our church body, we can only help our members (financially); unfortunately we don't have the funds to help non-members. This would require many thousands of $$ extra to help them.

For non-members, I can refer them to organizations in our area that can help them. For instance, there are 60+ food pantries in our city. Some weeks I had people (non-member) calling me nearly every day for help with their rent or utilities. It is my opinion that if more than 3.5% of people in our city went to church, and more than 20% of the members gave on a consistent basis, then we could help a lot more people, both inside and outside our church.

Also, some mentioned ramps. I just sent a bill yesterday to our church finance director to pay for ramp construction for one of our members that just had hip replacement surgery last week.

All churches have a benevolence policy in place to help people in need. Some have more to give than others.

Baby formula is a frequently stolen item, actively traded in the black market.

The tiktoker picked a food item that she knew darn well would draw instant suspicion

Oh the horror of a church wanting to vet a non-parishioner asking for an expensive food item or money.

All of the pastors I know would immediately help the woman and her child. I don't think the help was a surprise at all.

Exactly. My church is extremely generous and helps a lot of people…and there is a process for non-church members because they are unknowns. We'll help, but we won't take excessive risks of being taken advantage of. That's called stewardship.
