It IS the economy, stupid.
This is the message I am picking up. The Democrats lied their ssses off sbout what they would do to help people deal with cost of living issues and that connected. Republicans need to examine this more closely, understand it, and develop an effective messaging strategy to address public concerns. They need to sell a solution.
The Democrats have proven you don't actually ever have to fix economic problems. You just have to make people feel like you can, and you will. If you can actually make things better, that is just icing on the cake from a political standpoint.
Eldctins are about voter expectations and beliefs. They are NOT about reality, sadly. You have to u demand what voters want to believe, and confirm the hell out of it.
Let's not dismiss or exaggerate what happened this cycle but we had better look at it. Some locations have radicalized so much they are willing to recklessly play with the failed socialist progressive solutions. Why? They lie and lie about being able to fix real problems people FEEL like they are experiencing.
Also, there was definitely a backlash activist turnout "vote to oppose Trump" element but that isn't the biggest factor at work. That motivates the hardcore party base but they tend to turn out anyways. Look at who else turned out. Younger, poorer voters are trending left except for some male subgroups. They are afraid for their economic futures and are swallowing up the socialist's dreamy lies about handing them what they wznt "for free". It's hard to beat Santa Marx, but a message must be found.
Agreed. Those voters went for Trump even though his "fix" for the economy was to raise taxes on all imports. Of course I thought that was horrible strategy to reduce the cost of living, but it didn't matter. He promised, and they bought it. He's a change agent.
Now that they have realized he isn't going to do a damn thing to help them, they're going for the alternative change agent.
President Trump in no way increased taxes on imports. He imposed tariffs on imports from countries abusing their power to screw the American worker.
Since you don't grasp the concept I will explain.
If YOU consider a tariff as a tax(which is on the supplier), then the miscreants in Democratic Party leadership MUST admit to this new definition of a tax. Under this new definition then federal and state regulations are indeed TAXES on the U.S. citizens. All regulations increase business, personal and organizational costs, doesn't that make them a tax, with ann even a more direct effect than a tariff, don't lie and accept this truth. Foreign nations often adsorb the cost, or parts of the cost, of the tariff rather than lose the business.
Now with this new insight, which party is the absolute Emperor of taxation.
Among the latter, under pretence of governing they have divided their nations into two classes, wolves and sheep.”
Thomas Jefferson, Letter to Edward Carrington, January 16, 1787
