I'm of the belief that we should want NYC to go this route and show everyone just how this kind of government will work. Make it impossible for families in the NYC boroughs to be able to afford going to Yankees games or Broadway plays. Make it clear to those who used to go to NYC at Christmas time that it's a bad idea for safety and enjoyment. Basically, make that place look like Tehran. Then use it in every single election, much like Trump and the GOP has done with Chicago and California.

It's all very odd because communism is incompatible with Islam

He's appealing to the majority there (the communists) and using their strategy against them:

Infiltrate, kill it, wear them as carcass.

I used to think that way, but don't any longer. The stink spreads.

And once a party has power, it's very difficult to eradicate the incumbent...especially as then enact more and more policies that create dependence. "You want your freebies to end?...No? Then keep voting for us."

And the capable ones will simply move here. Then they'll vote the same way, for the same policies, that ran them out of their home.

Not only that, but they'll simply ask for bailouts from the Fed, which Dem leadership will inevitably provide. Just look at California.

If large sections of our country fall, it's harder on the rest of us.

Not if the Islamists are in charge. That's basically Sharia law in a nutshell.

No, actually it's not. They are both crappy systems, but they are incompatible

I know it's partly in jest but I truly believe that if you voted for the party in power in your state then you shouldn't be allowed to leave until you change your vote in the next election.

Tired of Dems fleeing the mess they make and then decide to trash our states too

He can run on the platform that he plans to kill all non-Muslims and wants to burn all of NYC to the ground, but as long as there is a "D" next to his name, they'll vote him in because "he has to be better than any Republican."

Lying is against the teachings of Islam.

BUT, lying to "infidels"? TOTALLY acceptable.
It's called taqiyya. Momdani engaging in it to conceal his true agenda that he's going to put in place.

NYC will act like nothing is wrong, they'll whistle past the graveyard and in 20 years when the area is overrun by Sharia law they'll be up the creek. Awwwwww, what a shame.

Not that I'm complaining as the white, liberal, women will suddenly be eaten up with a different kind of rage over the deep selection of their wardrobe, where they can go, and who they can talk to, but, we've got our own problem with them in Texas.

Texas has become a HUGE TARGET for Islam and it's growing.

This is one area where we need to take care of our own.

I give two ****s about Islam, being a liberty freak. But, since Islam isn't interested in having a Luther reformation, it will likely continue to NOT blend well with the West. Never has, and likely never will.

Don't let anymore in---period.

I agree immigration from Islam countries needs to be paused until we get the illegals out and reassess. All fundamentalist need to go. We may never be able to accept more, but I want to get the baseline back to what we had in 2000 - before 9/11. I actually think people like Mamdami and Omar need to have their citizen stripped and deported.

People should write their Texas legislators and demand they start dismantling Epic City and any other compound area in the state where they will implement sharia law.

You reap what you sow.

Cuomo was a super liberal governor who opened the doors for mass immigration.

The same guy that loaded the nursing homes with Covid patients.

The city is a lost cause if you are white.

I have had that same thought. Typically communists are totally against the concept of a higher power because those in charge of the state are the ultimate higher power over the people . Conversely to most Muslims Allah is the higher power . Functionally perhaps a Communist State and a Muslim theocracy operate similarly but the premise is very different .

I think the leaders of most Muslim theocracies are basically just power hungry people hiding behind religion . There may be exceptions that I'm unaware of. I kind of feel similarly about historical leaders of Communist systems but they hide behind the concept of power to the people rather than religion . I don't think it's ever worked long term nor do I believe it ever will because … well people are involved . It might work for fire ants and the like.

Yeah, I simply don't see how they recover from this. There will be no Rudy 2.0 revival here.

Demographics and math are against NYC from ever recovering.

NYC will experience what other large democrat cities have, but theirs will have an element of too many muslims as well. In the 60s, both Chicago and Detroit (to just name two) were predominantly white but as those places became more of a cesspool, a large part of the white population left and the black component (and others) went up. They will never get the white folks back (why would they want to live there?) and those cities will forever remain cesspools.

I suspect as this dude implements, or tries to implement, some of his nutty ideas, you will see white people, affluent people, and businesses begin to leave NYC in increasing numbers, and more and more riff raff and muslims move there. It will go from bad to worse.

Things that are "too big to fail"

1. Major banks
2. Major insurance
3. New York City

We already paid for 1 and 2. I may not mind paying for 3 if it turns New York red. But since that probably won't happen, I'm hoping NY comes to their senses.

Obama was more nuanced about it. And as bad as he was, this guy is much more of a threat.

Mamdani is just a spoiled, rich kid, a socialist idiot who's never held a job and literally supports terrorists openly.

But you get an A+ on trying to push the racism bull*****

Quote:

Back in 2015 there was a debate between GMU economist and open-borders advocate @bryan_caplan and his colleague @GarettJones who cautioned that immigrants tend to import all the beliefs and pathologies of their home nations, and that if we want to preserve America qua America, and importantly the strength of its institutions, we need take a far more prudent approach to who we let in to the country and at what volume.

Caplan, and mass immigration proponents at places like CATO and elsewhere, who think of immigration as an unalloyed economic good (which somehow became conventional wisdom), dismissed these concernswhen not simply waving them away as the bigoted ranting of evil bad racistsby claiming, as Caplan does in the clip below, that 1) first generation immigrants don't really hold any political power (so who really cares?) and 2) second generation immigrants and beyond simply assimilate to the prevailing norms of the country (as they have in the past).

Now that a fully westernized Indian by way of Uganda is leading a coalition of non-natives to impose socialism on our country's biggest city and economic power center, do they have any revisions they want to make? Do they think maybe it's time to reconsider the conventional wisdom? Do they think maybe, as @GarettJones warned us, that mass immigration doesn't just spontaneously produce Americans, that there is no magic dirt, and that since a country is its people, when the people change (or *are changed*) the country changes with them?

He was largely successful in what he wanted to do as far as the path he put us on.

His failure is that the path he put on us leads to oblivion.

He destabilized the Republic for sure . No doubt about that . I presume the end goal of destabilization is failure of the Republic and replacing with something else tho.
