Which of the big 3 schools (TAMU, tt, tu) is most Conservative now?

When my sister was at TAMU in the mid 2000s, I would have said A&M and tt were decisively far more conservative than tu.

But from what I read and see now - it seems to me that tt is more conservative than tamu now. And tu has fallen off the left cliff not once, but 10 more times.

A&M was bound to move to the left at least some once the quality of education increased.

Texas Tech by miles and miles. It reminds me so much of A&M in the 80's and early 90's minus the academic cred.

tech is more conservative than TAMU. While A&M was expanding their liberal arts programs (not just, but a lot), tech was investing more in Ag and O&G

It increased before it decreased. In fact, it decreased because it increased.

If you're looking for a conservative university, consider a small niche university in a conservative state. Abiline Christian is a good example.

We got rich enough to harbor profs whose ideas don't need to actually work in order to survive.

The A&M student body is still pretty conservative.

The faculty is as bad or worse than UC Berkeley.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Professors were plenty liberal in the 90s.

We just started attracting more urban and rich suburban kids as part of the student body. We hoovered up tens of thousands of first generation Ags who did not go to the school for the culture or the traditions.

Evolution like that was bound to happen as our State grew and A&M was leaned on to absorb so many of the spiraling number of high school graduates.

If you mean the quality of education at A&M has decreased, thats just complete BS. There were a lot of non serious students at A&M with "2.0 and go" mentalities back in the good old days. Ill bet as much as a third of kids at A&M in the early 80s were just there to party and collect a diploma.

I resemble that remark!! My GPR was a 2.1 when I graduated!

But it's worked out OK.

If we could get the right leadership we could trend back to our roots . Tech is more conservative considering student body AND faculty. Faculty is where the right leadership could have a big impact

quality of education increased? What you really mean is introduce useless liberal arts and university study degrees. That did not increase the quality of education

When did Tech become one of the three big schools? I'm assuming you mean by enrollment.

UH, North Texas, and UT Arlington are all bigger than Tech as of 2023. Texas State is within a few hundred kids from Tech's total.

But those are commuter schools serving large urban areas. Tech is more of a destination college for recent high school graduates.

I don't know that I buy that Texas Tech is significantly more conservative than A&M nowadays. I think they both have to deal with usless liberal profs hellbent on indoctrinating kids. Maybe we are slightly more progressive in terms of faculty, but our student body is still overwhelmingly conservative.

Fair enough, although 40% of UT kids lived off campus and commuted as freshman. It's a thing in large urban areas - if not to the extent of the other schools I listed.

I guess that would make A&M, Tech, and Texas St. the 3 big schools.

You sure about that? As a racialist/identitarian yourself, what about the below demorgaphic breakdown would indicate that we are significantly more progressive than them? I don't disagree entirely, but I just don't think it's some crazy huge delta that some others seem to. Are they attracting more salt of the earth types of whites and latinos or something? Possible I guess.

Is our faculty significantly more progressive? Do we have data to back that up? I am open to the case for Tech if someone can somehow show me that their faculty is significantly more conservative than ours.

TEXAS TECH
52.5% White, 26.8% Hispanic or Latino, and 5.73% Black or African American students

TEXS A&M
51-56% White, 23-26% Hispanic or Latino, 10-11% Asian, and about 2-3% Black or African American

The Black Cultural Center is a celebration of the Black community designed with the goal of helping students feel validated at Tech, said Carol Sumner, the university's vice president of the Division of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer.

SB17 neutered this

Tech is growing because they will accept nearly anyone. They are desperate for attention and the academics are still trash. UT-Dallas is ranked 188 spots ahead of Tech. HOUSTON which is a commuter school is ranked 66 spots higher.

Tech has their share of woketards as well.

Lubbock is known as the world's largest cotton patch. It is surrounded by the cotton industry.

They used to have a football game every fall where they celebrated the cotton industry.

About 5 years ago one person on the faculty complained about the cotton industry weekend.

And the tech admin canceled it in a matter of seconds.
