The rules are bent/broken all the time by Pat to help kids (including white males) win the money so I say the rules are whatever Pat wants them to be that day. Usually he gives extra kicks as the official rules say one kick only. The rules also state winning it is worth $25k. I can't remember ever seeing Pat set that as the prize for the show.

So in the past, participants who did attempt on their on own, and miss, do they get a mulligan and get a chance to pick their stand in?

If they are going to this….then put a military vet who had his legs blown off who can chose a stand in.

If you are going to change the rules…..then just do what you really want and that is a kid who can't meet the requirement and just give the $300k on tv and look fulfilled.

I didn't see it as DEI, but could have been a life changing moment for her worth more than the money

Yes. They've both given kids second chances and allowed for stand ins. Of course they could just give the money away, but the point is to make it entertaining.

This is making something about nothing. Frankly, this is this is counter productive if you really wanted DEI / race stuff to calm down. They change rules on that segment seemingly every week and mcafee has gotten boned a number of times by people gaming the system.

I actually viewed it with a positive lens and mcafees thinking "well damn. Finally someone won the raffle that's not trying to game this and a closer fit to why I started this segment to begin with" whether she's black or not btw.

If you're gonna decide to ***** about this at all you could say that she should have used whatever rule they have to use a fill in as they mentioned the other 2 girls that have won the raffle did so. And since she didn't she shouldn't have gotten the freebie. I could understand that.
