I am wondering if the NFL is so addictive that should require mandatory counseling or a doctor's prescription?

Following a league that supports:
DEI, kneeling instead of standing for our national anthem, support of George Floyd, LGBQT, Covid mandates, Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) criteria, climate activism, net zero carbon by 2040… is a bold choice for many here who detest these goals in all other settings.

BTW, have you heard the latest in a long line of "must see" headliners for the superbowl will be Bad Bunny, who is Anti ICE and pro illegal immigration?

Sundays at my house are for church and rewatching the Aggie game.

Haven't watched the NFL since Tom Landry was fired. College football has been optional since NIL and the portal.

I punted the NFL years ago, before all of their political bullcrap that should have turned off the majority of their remaining fans. It wasn't long after I left A&M that I observed that (while I have never been a football player) I had much more in common with Texas A&M and its players than I ever did with the Oilers or Cowboys. Sure, there were random A&M players playing for those franchises over the years, but the same could be said for teams from other cities. Still, I kept watching because it is football. I even went to a handful of Texans games in their first decade of existence. But then I noticed that sometime around 2008, when we had left church, I would no longer turn on the radio to the Texans game. And then I wouldn't rush to sit on the couch with the TV on to their game. I don't miss it, and I'm glad to be free to do whatever else I need to do on Sundays.

I actually get out and do stuff on the weekend, aside from Aggie Football or Baseball I don't spend time sitting in the house. I do enough sitting & staring at a screen at work.

Watch the game on Youtube the next day. A 3+ hour game is compressed to less that 15mins, when you remove the terrible commentary and commercials.

LOL, some of us just enjoy high quality football on Sundays. Not everything has to be political and I don't pay attention to what causes they're supporting. DEI.....ummmm what? Last I checked, they're not trotting out any female players to get injured the second after they get hit. Even though I despise Jerry Jones, my favorite team, the Cowboys, had a moment of silence to honor Charlie Kirk. I don't care what the other teams in Seattle, Las Vegas, LA, etc are doing. That said, having Bad Bunny perform at halftime is ridiculously stupid. But so was having Kendrick Lamar last year. Who cares

Post Malone would have been an easy, non controversial pick with music that crosses multiple genres. He's arguably the biggest star in the world right now.

I've never quite understood the draw of pro sports to begin with. A bunch of millionaires running around on a field and you are supposed to get emotionally invested in some of them but not others. You spend big money to watch them in person or buy their logo stuff. They're supposed to represent your city except they're completely privatized, and are sometimes even moved to new cities. Also, they're not even comprised of locals - most teams have people from everywhere else, including places you're supposed to now hate.

I quit watching NFL about 7-8 years back and having all my fall Sunday's back has been quite nice.

stopped watching the NFL about 7 years ago, because the games were boring. Then the social justice **** completely turned me away. I stopped watching college ball in covid, espcially after that punk-ass QB1 starting running his mouth at alumni.

It's given me my weekend back. Time with kids, time for hobbies, time for sun.

This is the best way to generate ad revenue on X, because you know all the boomers will repost and agree with the OP. Genius.

I do not watch many NFL games and I am not a fan of rap or hip hop.


That being said, the NFL is after viewership and that is the currently most popular "music".

Wife and I casually follow the Ags, but we have not watched a live game for several years.
Part of it was dissaitsfaction with admin and campus direction, part the portal and loss of any figleaf for being true A&M student athletes.

Same deal for our wills, not leaving money for Engineering or Mays, unless we have an accident before we change 'em.

May not leave any for Vet school. BUT, lots of good Ag vets we use though and we've spent a lot of money at the Vet school. Seems to be worth leaving something there.

I like football. Don't care about any of the rest. Won't watch a stupid halftime show, since they will never have any artists that I like anyway.

Interesting. I would at least think that they would have some stroke in the decision since it's being broadcast during their event.

I did like the Kendrick Lamar show last year, but I guess I have no idea who Bad Bunny is.

Haven't watched football in probably 12 or so years, Especially Aggie Football. Much more money in my pocket and way better memories made doing the hobbies I love. Different strokes......
