I have to assume you died during the winter of death of 2021 and again in the summer of death in 2022 and have just now come back to life. It was crazy. It turns out 95% of the medical community are just sheep that are completely incapable of independent thought. They are really good at taking data in and spitting data out but they can't actually analyze the data and form original thoughts out of any of it.

Autism rates have gone up for a lot of reasons. Some of them are for sure environment and nutrition. I'm sure advanced maternal age is a factor too. The biggest one is that the medical definitions of autism have been revised several times to be more inclusive of multiple characteristics, and with every revision the rates have jumped up. There is also now an incentive to diagnose because of school and testing interventions that didn't exist 30-50 years ago. So kids that would have been considered "quiet" or "weird" are now on the spectrum and get extra resources at school and occupational therapy and a label, now that we live in a world where everything seems to need a label.

Are they kicking off studies? What's the action plan? Other than the fact they are going to get sued. I don't really have a problem with telling pregnant moms to avoid Tylenol but it sounds like the evidence is pretty lacking so I think they should fund a study to prove it.

There is more evidence of the risks of fever over 101 during pregnancy causing issues for the mother and the baby than there is evidence of Tylenol being the autism boogyman.

01agtx - if you feel that Tylenol is such a big risk to take, should the government ban it?

For a mild fever she doesn't. High fevers can cause fetal damage and trigger miscarriages.

I keep my tetanus shot current, and made sure my kids did, too. I think it's a good idea for anyone, but as a farmer and with farm kids, it would be stupid to skip it

'Suggested' is putting it lightly.

There are many reasons to treat fevers. Comfort. Harm to fetus. Seizures. To name a few.

Why would the government ban it? They don't ban aspirin in children, they recommend they don't take it.

Fair enough with maternal temperature. Are pregnant women having febrile seizures?

There was a study some time ago, done in Europe IIRC, which showed that woman with low levels of Vitamin-D had a higher risk of having a child with autism.

The researchers said it would need to be repeated in other countries to see if the results were the same in order to verify it. Never saw anything to show it was ever followed up on.

Just like with some other neurological conditions, there is not a specific cause. It is a combination of factors that goes beyond genetics. It is why one identical twin can have something like MS and the other never does.

I'm no doctor, but I bet if a graph of the rate of autism was overlaying with a graph showing the age women are having kids, there would be a pretty good overlap. Women used to have kids in their mid/late teens and 20s (the mid-teens part refers to the 19th century and earlier when people married younger then they do today) but now many wait until their 30s and even 40s. Like anything else, the older we get, the more things degrade and I'd bet that includes eggs and sperm.
