This is great news for my son who is in the job market for Computer Science as he is close to graduating with a Bachelors. Top 5 US school and he is struggling. WTF? And they hire Accenture instead killing the new grad hiring?
YES!
Maybe he should have learned how to use a welding torch or hammer instead of spending over $100k to learn how to code. Sucks that his skills are already obsolete. I hope for your sake that he doesn't become the CEO of his own company.
You don't understand, college is not to learn to code. It is to learn to solve problems. Coding is just one way. I have 2 grad degrees and one of them is from A&M. Another is a Top 3 school. I learned how to solve problems there which I apply to new problems.
Coding can be learned through Youtube for free,
I hope he becomes a CEO some day. But a good humane one. The type who thinks long term and not "greed is good". Not laying off people just to make a bonus. If my son does not turn out that way, I will have failed as a parent.
