I used to read a few non political subs, but in the lead up to the 2024 election, people began posting unhinged political rants and derails even on those (we're talking trump is a fascist screeds on the camping sub, things like that). Mods didn't do anything; just let a bunch of outsiders overrun non political boards with unrelated crap and ruin discussions.

Dropped it and haven't gone back.

I don't see how this makes any difference whatsoever to the liberal echo chamber cesspool that Reddit is. For every mod who is taken off of one sub, there are 20 more insane leftists lined up to replace them. There is no shortage of them.

I literallt just googled who some of the singers were yesterday, as I knew/already liked about half of them before the memorial. So I googled to get a lineup of all the singers and one of the results was a r/music reddit thread. Clicked on it, and wow, shockingly unhinged. Non stop hate. It was wild. You cant even post a lineup of musicians on there!

The best way to use reddit is to Google your questions or problems and find some guy who fixed exactly what you need to fix 10 years ago and posted a step by step about it on Reddit.

Literally just did this a half hour ago for an old tablet that was way out of date and refused to update. Reddit had the answer of course. Had to do some command line stuff in ssh to realign the internal clock of it to get it to sync to some internal servers so it could gain access to newest updates. Thanks random guy from five years ago!

Zero way I was figuring that out myself and definitely not in the basic ass FAQs and troubleshooting.

This board is seeing enemies everywhere. Reddit is Reddit. Just like Facebook. Or Twitter. Or blue sky. Or 4chan. Hell, tiger droppings probably deserves a mention.
