I think we've all had the same thoughts. It feels like an invisible line was crossed yesterday. Someone posted yesterday that Charlie was becoming (was?) the GenZ Rush. The way he connected to the younger generation was unique.

I am 70 years old and agree. I am full of anger right now. Can not stop thinking about Charlie's wife and kids.

Oklahoma City Bombing and Falling of the Berlin Wall as well.
If you say you hate the state of politics in this nation and you don't get involved in it, you obviously don't hate the state of politics in this nation.

He was everything libs CLAIM they want…

Caring, compassionate, willing to listen and debate, yet steadfast in his beliefs…

They hated him and killed him because today's libs don't want debate, they don't want disagreement…. They want UNWAVERING AUTHORITY over you and me..

If the chatter about foreign involvement is true, then there's the implication we just got attacked. The murder yields a very effective psyops impact- we're now pushed to civil division tipped over by someone wanting to destabilize us further.

Also a clue when folks reach out to let you know about an event.

I had 2 friends text and ask, have you heard that…..

I'm a little too young for the JFK assassination.
As a solid Gen Xer, I think our first "JFK" moment was the Challenger explosion.
My list includes that and a few others that may or not have been mentioned already…Tiananamen Square, fall of The Wall, etc.
But yeah, as a 51 year old, this one makes the list.
Yesterday's tears have turned into fury and resolve.

If so, very much doubt its the two big ones. This kind of thing could create a right wing Empire and they don't want that. If its foreign, its probably someone lesser. Wouldn't put it past say Iran or globalists.

Same. I can't get the vid from Fox (I think) of Kirk on air and they cut to his little daughter rushing up to give him a giant hug.

Challenger explosion
Fall of Berlin Wall
Start of the Gulf War
Bonfire tragedy
9/11
Boston marathon bombing
Charlie Kirk assassination

Those are all events where I can think about them and be immediately transported back to that day.

Yes to all three.

I think this will have a bigger impact than the violent left comprehends/imagines.

It's a 'mask off' moment, and a culmination of a series of violent rhetoric and actions that started around 2008.

This speech (which i don't believe Biden had any real sentient thoughts about when he was given the script), was another step toward this seminal moment, imho.

The large majority of America might know the name because of shock politics and the media, but couldn't tell you much about him otherwise.

This is a big deal to the 10% on the far right. The 10% on the far left are probably not upset and the mentally ill are probably celebrating.

The vast majority of Americans are disturbed that a public execution would happen. Especially over politics like a third world county, but not because of who it was. The polarization of politics in this country is leading it down a dark path. TexAgs F16 is just as responsible for that as the far left on other internet sites.

I wouldn't say "far right." I think "Christian right" would be more accurate. But most people are probably really finding out about him now.

As most humans are visual creatures, being able to see it happen basically live in our own country I think hits home with a lot of people. Being assassinated over a verbal/ non-violent debate. Wow.

Get out of here with your lame "bOTh sIdEs!" bull***** Our rhetoric distills to wanting the system to be operated as intended. Your side assassinates peaceful opponents.

And don't mince words - this was an ASSASSINATION. Not an "execution." Words matter.

Yup, a line was crossed yesterday. I'm having a harder time convincing myself that continuing to turn the other cheek is the best course of action. I'm ready to start flipping tables.

Sorry but you pissed me off. This is so vapid, non critical thinking it makes me want to puke. As does moral relativism which your post reeks of.

Well turning the other cheek is mis translated to enemy but it is for BROTHERS in your community, not people trying to kill you

You are vastly underestimating teens'/college students' familiarity and affinity for him.

I spoke with several teens last night of different grade levels and almost every single one knew all about what had occurred and followed him in some way.

Both sides do not do this. YOUR side does this. There is no moral equivalence.

And the execution of the killer needs to be televised so the left can see the fruits of their hatred.

JFK--was in class, 4th grade. (Was playing football out in our yard when Oswald got shot.)
9/11--was at work, went home to get a TV to watch things unfold
Charlie Kirk--can't be as sure, was either on a tractor or on my side by side, but came in to take a break and saw the post on here.

Doc, I like and appreciate you. But if that is true, I'd suggest taking a step back and maybe even talking to someone.

A lot of people on here don't realize it, but F16 (both sides that argue on here) is largely detached from the norms and majority of Republicans and Democrats in America. Things that have been posted and justified as morally right on this sub (especially the last 24 hours) from both sides is truly disturbing.

Shooting and killing an innocent person is not politics, it is murder. If executed, it would be because he murdered an innocent person, not because of politics.

Maybe.

3rd party / unbiased surveys generally show that what people think shapes America is largely warped by their personal bias and subsequently the bias they choose to surround themselves with in their bubble of influence. It's human nature to socialize and surround yourselves with people like you. It generally helps keep things normal and peaceful and avoids conflict. Social media algorithms do the same.

The average person doesn't understand what they see on social media based on past viewing and interaction, isn't the same for most other people.
