There was a judge years ago who would sentence juveniles to a facility he owned or someone he knew owned. Believe it all came out after one of the boys ended up taking his own life. Kids for cash or something?

Judge Michael Conahan. He was convicted on 12 of 39 counts and sentenced to 28 years in federal prison. Conahan, who had been released to home confinement in 2020, had his sentence (due to end in 2026) commuted in 2024 by President Joe Biden.

That's the one. Wouldn't have known about it had the "judge" not made the magical Biden auto-pen list.

I doubt it. There was no lead up or provocation for the attack. At least not in the few seconds before he stabbed her. Somebody carrying would not have had time to act.

They 100% know what they're doing. They fully understand that crime is a HUGE problem for them. That murder caught on camera exposes the left's failure on many levels. They know how shocking those few seconds are. That could've been themselves or their daughter on that train. They can't engage in victim blaming here like they did with the Cincy beatings. Defund the police was about pandering to blacks and infantile white liberals. It was also the logical extension of their world view that our system is founded on oppression. I grew up and currently live in Austin. I know libs pretty well. Rising crime is a conundrum for them because it forces them to question their feeble ideology, or at least confront the obvious truth that their policies on crime increase suffering. It's why they reflexively blame capitalism or racist cops. To them, it's more noble to suffer at the hands of criminals then to concede that "social justice" policy is neglecting the very people they claim to champion.

They don't want troops because they know crime will plummet and their failing policies will be exposed. They always couch it in terms of funding. Every failing leftist policy just didn't receive enough funding.
