What link is the best narrative description of the crime? I have seen only harrowing stills, enough to want dumped into a volcano, but its unclear if there was any kind of exchange before the miscreant began stabbing. I don't want to looking for any of the video --just looking for a a paraphrased description as was not "real time" aware of it as the story broke other than yet another gratuitous killing by a repeat offender who should not exist by definition.

She got on the bus, sat in front of him on her headphones and looking at her phone. He took out a folding knife, opened it, stood up and stabbed her in the neck and walked away. Nobody else did anything until she was nearly dead on the floor.

Edit to add, definitely don't watch the video. It's horrifying. Worse than you can imagine.

Thanks. So he just just stabs her when she looked up (that freeze) and then walked away (if only had fallen on the 3rd rail when leaving the train) And that was part of what looking for -- one stab, not multiple and the miscreants aboard let her bleed out?

The still shot of her looking up is after she was stabbed. She looks up in disbelief, then puts her face in her hands, then slumps over. No one moves for about 90 seconds when one guy comes over to her when she's on the floor. After she was stabbed the others went back to their phones or just walked away. A disgusting lack of humanity on display.

That's surprising because she looks not yet harmed there. So its even worse.

Yes, still does. Can honestly say never felt quite the level of animosity toward OBL. I knew he was a foreign attacker acting on foreign things.

Same. Just gut-wrenching. She never stood a chance. And that could have been any of our daughters.

Competent. He rode public transportation, opened a knife, murdered an innocent girl, closed a knife, exited public transportation, told the world he got that white girl……yeah hes plenty competent to face justice…,and he has had 14 other opportunities.

Competency is the mental capacity to understand the legal proceedings and assist with his defense.

Insanity means that he was so mentally incapacitated at the time of the crime he lacked to ability to know that his actions were wrong negating his mens rea to commit the crime.

Insanity won't work. He makes contemporary statements like "got that white girl" that will make that defense very difficult for the defense.
