South Korea was a backwater and BEHIND best Korea economically until maybe the late 1970s. Now part of them lagging behind was due to the fact that the north inherited a lot of infrastructure built by the Japanese but that's a pretty sad excuse considering we bombed the north flat.


Anyway the system in the south is based on a few connected families and the country lives and dies by their Whims.

I did a few months working a contract for a huge South Korean industrial manufacturer and this behavior from Hyundai wouldn't surprise me. They had a local office they opened that I worked in, and there were times their managers and a few employees were really hard to work with and micromanaging. They kept asking for more details on methods and procedures than we could share due to a combination of export restrictions and protecting our company's own IP.

Total reserves senior leadership for the French. Shell for to the Dutch. BP for the English. Just a fact of life that it takes some exceptional circumstances for a foreigner to rise above their ceiling. The only surprising things here is it was done for low level employees.

Well, not too shocking. They don't respect American workers. They aren't entirely wrong either. So I understand where they are coming from but surprise how ham fisted they were with this scheme.

I want them to go after businesses and fine/jail owners and deport the illegals. I think a well-publicized campaign of a few examples getting destroyed and losing their businesses and them going to PMITA prison would go a long way to fixing the issue.

Yes arresting and fining people is a good start but making examples of people and throwing them in Jail is terrible idea and would likely lead to an abuse of power as political enemies would be at the top of the list

Again ramping up enforcement and fines are needed , targeting people to make an example is bad & Throwing people in Prison is a terrible precedent

Newsflash.... I don't give a rats ass what work they are doing. If someone is here illegally I want them deported.

In case that wasn't clear enough.. I want 100% of people that are in the US illegally, including those that overstayed their Visa, deported. I don't care if they've been here 25 years and own a business. I don't care if they have anchor babies here.

Deport them all. To those that whine about breaking up families, their US citizen family members can follow the rules of the country they are getting deported to and legally immigrate to join them.

First thing that came to mind. I'm imaging the company a few years ago, playing one state off another trying to get the best tax breaks. Then all the local officials went on TV to crow about they jobs the plant was going to create.
