I think painting the border wall black is a good idea to make it hotter and tougher to climb.

None of that stuff would grow. About the only thing growing in most of the desert around that wall is rocks.

They put about 5 rows of razor wire on the wall one time in Yuma, AZ in Trump's first term, and that worked like a champ until the DEMs cried so much about it being too hazardous and they had to take the razor wire down...

I think in the higher traffic areas, put 1 row of razor wire on the wall along with 3 strands of solar powered electric fence wire touching the wall or however much it takes to electrify the crap out of it. Then put at least 4 more rows of razor wire on the ground in front of the wall, and put ground sensors about every quarter mile where the border control can tell when there has been a breach that needs to be monitored/ repaired.. At least make it a challenge..

All the money is going in to painting the wall so they will be unable to install any cameras or ground detection equipment. Probably will be unable to fund any drones or border patrols.

Trump absolutely intends to just put it up, paint it, call it beautiful then walk away.

FYI, the Egyptians also cleared and then established a 2+mile wide buffer zone past that fence/wall during this conflict, as the gazans had dug so many tunnels they had to provide more space to make sure they detect any trying to get through again.

None of the arab countries, including but not limited to Egypt, Jordan, or the al Qaeda terrorists running Syria want anything to do with the lovely gazans. I've never seen a single democrat admit this.
