My home insurance went up a whopping 52%, renewed next month! I haven't bought coffee since December. It's up 16%. Anybody else seeing noticeable price increases like that?

CPI will be released tomorrow. The median forecast is 2.8% YoY, up from 2.7% Core CPI prediction is 3.1% YoY, up from 2.9%.

Haven't noticed. I buy pretty much what I always buy, don't attempt to see if prices are up or down.

I'd get several quotes on the insurance.

You are probably just catching up to the increases we have seen the last few years.

Cost to replace a house has doubled the last 5 years so your insurance rates are catching up.

No lies there. When I bought my house, i paid 125k. The next year it was appraised, at 225,000 dollars. Now it's appraised at 350,000. I would love to know where 350k is in this home.
Dead people are notoriously bad at returning calls.

We e noticed some foods going down, except beef- and that's a numbers thing. Gas is down. I used to just renew USAA house insurance and went on, got hit by increases called them and we cut some frills out.

Gas is up .20$ here, food is stable in some things, anything recreational or hobby related is unsustainable up

Wouldn't surprise me to see CPI down tomorrow, oviously below estimates. Shelter has continued it's slope downward and it's the largest component of CPI. Many US markets aren't just in disinflation for home prices they are in outright deflation.

In your closing docs you should have a survey of the home. Look at it and you should be able to determine the size and shape of your lot. Then note the address. This is where the $225k net appreciation is mostly from.

I think what you meant to type was the dollars he used to buy his house were worth 3x the dollars they are currently appraising his house for

I'll check the closing docs, I can also match them up with the blue prints of the land and house. The home was built by my brother in law and I bought it from his sister aka my wife. She bought the home back in 2006 with an arm loan. When we got together I got into a fix rate mortgage.

Home owners has been sky rocketing for 4 years for me an everyone around me. You simply have to shop every year.

If you're just now getting an increase you're very fortunate, relatively speaking

My current house in Tennessee is triple the value of my house that I had in Texas.

My property taxes in Texas were five times higher than my taxes in Tennessee.

I wouldn't be able to afford to live in Texas anymore.

My house and car seem like they have doubled over 5 years. I was able to take roof of insurance a few years ago or it would be even more. I got some quotes to replace 3 years ago and it was twice the insurance so I am at break even on that now. Will probably look to do it with neighbors who built at same time as me because we have been successful doing that with things like our shared fences.

CPI --- 2.7% YoY - same as last month. Energy was down 1.6% which was the biggest factor in it remaining stable.

core CPI --- 3.1% - up from 2.9% last month

My insurance went up 80% when I went to renew last November. Shopped around and many other quotes were actually worse. Finally found something comparable but was still more expensive.

Yup.
Every country tariffs us and they do it because it benefits them. And we do it and we are going to be hurt by them?

That is why I am all for reciprocal tariffs.

There will be some pain, no doubt. Undies at Kohl's and Macys will cost more, sure. Deal with it. No one has assured you low prices. We got artificial low prices for decades, now we will pay the price.

Same. I shopped it yesterday and what I'm getting seems to be the best, despite a 50% increase.

We won't see the effects from lettuce picker elimination for at least another two weeks. Dems are going to call it migratory inflation, which is different than the transitory inflation they made up last time.

Check in at hotel on coast is 4. I figured no illegal help, everyone speaks English. But are our citizens now getting more work? More part time work for those who want it? Things may move a little slower, but it is for our own good. Inconvenience for me not getting in my room at two, but hey I'll knock around town, and they did tell me 4 in reservations.
