Check in at hotel on coast is 4. I figured no illegal help, everyone speaks English. But are our citizens now getting more work? More part time work for those who want it? Things may move a little slower, but it is for our own good. Inconvenience for me not getting in my room at two, but hey I'll knock around town, and they did tell me 4 in reservations.

I noticed that this year. I also got a "courtesy call" the day before asking me what time I was going to check in, which has never happened before.

Inflation hasn't stopped no matter what side tells you it has.... Both R and D have spent record numbers well beyond what Obama spent. What do you expect with life after the pandemic?

Insurance is just rebounding on the prices to repair things. Cars are nuts. I spent 26k to get my rear wheel fixed on a modern SUV due to the computers, sensors, and hardware. It didn't even seem like it was that bad a hit.

Crazy.

No lies there. When I bought my house, i paid 125k. The next year it was appraised, at 225,000 dollars. Now it's appraised at 350,000. I would love to know where 350k is in this home.

Look at your local taxing authorities. That's where the $350k is - they need the money because they all spend like drunken sailors with zero reprocussions. And next year they will spend more and tax you more, because government.

My current house in Tennessee is triple the value of my house that I had in Texas.

My property taxes in Texas were five times higher than my taxes in Tennessee.

I wouldn't be able to afford to live in Texas anymore.

Does TN have state income tax? Not defending any states just curious. I used to have a PE license in TN. The annual renewal was like $50, but I also got to pay a $400 professional privilege tax every year. Applied to docs, attorneys, architects, engineers, essentially any white collar license. Seems like every state taxes the S outta everybody, they just call it something different.

No state income tax. Sales tax is 9.25%.

Inflation is always a $ supply issue. Church it up how ever you want: unless congress takes $ back out of circulation the fed's interest rate is just slow rolling the realization of the new norm. (Devalued dollar)

Spent a few days, finally, with my son and my ex and stepdaughter at a couple resorts here in TX. All said later check-in, but still was able to check in earlier and everyone spoke only spanish anywhere but the front desk (still had thick accents) and the waitstaff. Luckily, I speak Mexican.

Tarrifs so bad other countires use them aganist us punitievely never got an answer why we should accpet this as the biggest dog on the block.

Yup.
Every country tariffs us and they do it because it benefits them. And we do it and we are going to be hurt by them?

That is why I am all for reciprocal tariffs.

There will be some pain, no doubt. Undies at Kohl's and Macys will cost more, sure. Deal with it. No one has assured you low prices. We got artificial low prices for decades, now we will pay the price.

Pretty much how I see it. We're getting, price wise, where we should have been for decades now.

After a few years we'll all just get used to paying more for this and having less money in our accounts and go on with our lives.

That all depends where you're at. Here in SA, it keeps fluctuating greatly. Had gotten down to $2.4X and just shot back up to $2.90ish. And keeps doing that. And has, for a while.

We e noticed some foods going down, except beef- and that's a numbers thing. Gas is down. I used to just renew USAA house insurance and went on, got hit by increases called them and we cut some frills out.

Cattle numbers in the US are at their lowest since the 1950s. That's why beef is so high right now. A couple of years of rains in the west and southwest will help fix that.

It didn't just go up. It's been steadily rising over the Biden administration into now. Some things are coming down others or not.

He must have meant 2.6k, which is still a lot but unless his rear wheel is made of gold he wasn't paying $26,000 lol.

Tennessee benefits from an assload of tourism revenue. That's why their property taxes are so low and at the same time they don't have an income tax.

My home insurance premium went up 13% from last year. Deductible is 1% of the home value which is up 2.8% from last year. It doesn't sound too bad compared to the increases that others are seeing. Still sucks though.
