Ever since they grounded the Space Shuttle and let the private sector take the lead on space flight, my general attitude towards NASA has been...

Bye. SpaceX can handle it.
Also, how many of those leaving are working on DEI nonsense and understanding Islam? Obama changed the mission of NASA. Did that ever get undone?
The mind boggles at the ignorance shown daily.
I wish we could flag posts for not actually saying anything. It's a regular thing that we get arrogance like this from a resident liberal with a drive by post suggesting they know something the rest of us don't. Post something useful or don't post.
It's a known fact Obama tasked NASA with making the Muslim world feel good about their contributions to math. Somebody had to do that which means it's a valid question in this context.
Yeah, I don't see you quoting any "bye felicia" responses. You're a hypocrite and simply want an echo chamber. I'm not writing a paragraph for every response on here simply because I'm of the minority opinion. Go troll someone else.
Three goals cited by then-admin Charles Bolden, in an interview:
- Re-inspire children to want to get into science and math
- Expand international relationships
- Reach out to the Muslim world to acknowledge their past contributions to science
If you lose your mind over this, it's ignorance. They clarified their statements since a certain segment of the population doesn't understand soft diplomacy. That's my post. Enjoy the dopamine.
It has absolutely nothing to do with NASA's goals which is why the space community was so confused when Obama and his NASA Administrator Charlie Bolden make Muslim outreach a focus for NASA.Ag with kids said:ETFan said:LOYAL AG said:ETFan said:Logos Stick said:

Why just the Muslim world?
Why not the Slavic world?
Or the Germanic world?
Or the Asiatic world?
Why would just the "Muslim world" be singled out? WTF does that have to do with the goals of NASA?
NASA Administrator Charlie Bolden said:
"Bolden: I am here in the region its sort of the first anniversary of President Barack Obama's visit to Cairo and his speech there when he gave what has now become known as Obama's "Cairo Initiative" where he announced that he wanted this to become a new beginning of the relationship between the United States and the Muslim world. When I became the NASA Administrator before I became the NASA Administrator he charged me with three things: One was that he wanted me to re-inspire children to want to get into science and math, that he wanted me to expand our international relationships, and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with predominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math, and engineering."
