These modern actors in most of the newer super hero movies look like vegan twinks that most guys could manhandle.

The new Superman will need to gross nearly 500 million to be a success.

Movie cost 225 million. Movie will need to make more than 700 million.

Going on almost a decade since I went to a movie theatre. Don't feel like I've missed out on much. Giving money to pedophiles and people who hate me just doesn't seem fun

it stems from them always having threads derailed by posters who can see the political innuendo in modern films, thus putting a damper on them being able to discuss whatever artsy fartsy types like to discuss.

Only certain threads.

The music threads are usually pretty interesting, primarily because of the broad range of tastes represented. And most television threads are okay, especially when discussing shows that aren't considered "prestige."

But the movie ones frequently go south.

The last few I've watched have been fairly non woke. Twisters, Heads of State , Axel Foley and a couple of others. I do my research before I press the play button.

The Democrats hijacked that word during the Biden admin to apply it to illegal aliens so when you hear any Democrat (and I'm playing the odds that Gunn's brother is a Democrat) use that word we all know they mean illegal aliens. It's classic Dem tactics to redefine words and move the goalposts. Almost everyone agrees legal immigrants are just fine and they know that.

I don't care to argue this point on the E board just because I tend to try and practice "when in Rome" when I'm on other boards. However, they know exactly what Gunn's brother means by this and are trying to play innocent about it.

It's just people with a big microphone expressing their usual displeasure anytime the democrats aren't in power. That's all it is. Some are trying to spin the reaction it's created into people behaving like snowflakes, but it's actually the people with their selective outrage over U.S. policy using a movie promotion to get in their digs who are acting like snowflakes. It just seems completely unnecessary. The movie has a solid cast and looks like it could be fun, with a hopeful message. But they can't get out of their own way and are coming off as whiny and judgemental. I just don't get it.

Immigration is a complex issue. The U.S. is one of the most immigrant-friendly countries in the world. The problems we have didn't just start with the current leadership, but some want to act like that's the case. Ironically, immigrants have been treated horribly by fellow immigrants with the loose policies the U.S. has allowed for decades.

Hollywood for some reason wants to portray any policy that enforces laws or restrictions as inhumane - as if we should strive for this fantasy that letting anyone in is the only option and there are no consequences for it. It's not based in reality.

When you think of Superman no one says oh he's an immigrant the whole notion is absurd.

Superman director (James Gunn) is another Hollywood liberal elite creating movies to shove progressive agenda down people's throats instead of providing pure entertainment.
