Tattoos and piercings have gotten fairly out of hand. Women used to keep their tattoos largely obscure. I remember in the 90's, if a girl had a nose piercing, you were almost guaranteed a wild time but, not really someone you'd be introducing to mom. Then, it was belly button rings and tongue bars. There used to be something unique about a tattoo or piercing; a conversation piece at times. These days, when everyone is putting these large, grotesque tattoos and plates in their ears, it just disgusts me; there's nothing unique about it. I chalk all of this "body art" right up there with purple hair, depression, frustration, baggage, and a consistent stream of just really terrible life choices. I suppose I'm a fossil and don't see the beauty in all of it but, I really hope the blank canvas swings back around at some point.
