We moved out of the city so I'm less worried about it. People out here will simply start shooting them out of the sky if we start seeing mass casualty events from them.

I live in the country near Fort Polk.

A Ranger and MP colonel are my closest neighbors. They will look after me and mine.

I was at A&M when this came out (76-80). I never saw it but just did on YT. The only thing I remember about the Campus Theater was Pron on the screen every weekend.

Personally I think it's far more likely that a bunch of terrorists enters The Mall of America and starts shooting. They'd kill hundreds and hundreds.

Edit: Country Boy. When I was 10 I would take my single shot .22 out in the woods and hunt squirrels. Now days they would put parents in jail for that.

Definitely taking it seriously.

We had our neighbor get a drone and was flying it over their house initially looking all around. Kids I'm sure.

But it got a bit intrusive as we were in the backyard and it was annoying.

They seemed to be f-ing with us. So I went inside and got my shotgun. My wife was still out back with the dogs and cats who were terrified. I waited until they came just over our fence walked outside and under it and took aim.

They retreated in a hurry and I haven't seen it since.

PS - no I don't speak to my neighbors as the dad rudely approached us day one when we were parked in front of our house which has space for one car. A shared mailbox (two boxes on one post) is between the houses there and he did not like that we were partially blocking it. you could get to it but the mailman would have to get out fo his vehicle. We did not even plan to park there longterm just while moving in the garage was not useable.

But anyway. Very concerned about them from a privacy pespective alone. the threat of using it for violence is huge.

The very real concern for privacy over drones also has the potential to kill everyone's childhood dream of flying cars.

We were lied to anyway in Back to the Future. We were supposed to have highways of them in the skies by 2015.

Moreover than terrorists, a jaded autistic kid can modify the circuit on a DJI Phantom and do some real damage. Put a flipper zero on board and you could back up a traffic light and target a gas tanker. There's a lot of manmade horrors potentially from this.

How about we worry about what we all saw the last 5 to 6 years where faceless, groups of people had concentrated power in government and government scientist and through the use of just about all media sources that amplified all lies in a overt propaganda campaign that successfully forced citizens to do many things against their will.

Let worry about not letting that happen again.

A Ukraine quality drone will hit a loaded 747 sitting on an airport taxiway within the next few years. Virtually all commercial air traffic will be grounded for years after that causing a Black Swan drop in all markets greater than 50%, economic depression, mass layoffs AND higher cost of goods at the same time. Prepare accordingly. How do you prepare for such a thing? Not sure. Buy stock in UPS?

Problem is people who want to be controlled like this haven't changed. Liberal riot every time I turn on the news. They miss this type of government.

Not concerned about this but then I don't tend to be a worrier or handwringer.

Wouldn't the left's approach be to sit back and do nothing and depend on the government to protect them?
