Lol, my old office in Houston has the same slogan on the bathroom.

Screw downtown. Go east. Mercer island or Issaquah. I'd have absolutely zero concern about people walking around those places in middle of the night.

Welcome to the last whatever. The drug zombies have been wondering around Seattle for years. Congrats on discovering what others have known for a long time. That retirement is really paying dividends.

What were your observations when you were here?
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

This is almost every large city in America. Homelessness is a giant issue in our country right now.

Only in Democrat urban areas that tolerate it.

Homelessness is the symptom. Liberalism is the cause.

Mental illness is also a cause. Our country would be better off if we opened up mental hospitals again like we had pre-Reagan. Probably the only thing I didn't like that Reagan did as president. My neighbor's church does a lot of work with the homeless population in Dallas. I go and help him out from time to time. So many of those people need to be in a mental institution.

FWIW the ACLU forced most of these institutions to be shut down, to "liberate" the mentally ill.

Was in Seattle last year for a meeting. Had to walk from my hotel to the Target next to Pike's for some toothpaste (which was under lock & key). As I left, a homeless women stopped in front of me on the sidewalk, dropper her pants, squatted, and defecated on the sidewalk. Nobody in the area even broke stride.

Try Vancouver. They give out free needles so you have to watch where you walk. Also, the bathrooms all have handy needle dispensers that are overflowing with needles scattered on the ground and some inside the toilet.

My experience in downtown Seattle two years ago to get on an Alaskan cruise was enough for me to never go there again. Heard gunfire, multiple drug zombies, people passed out on literally on the sidewalk, and the topper - a lovely gentleman taking a **** on the sidewalk right outside our restaurant while we were eating.
That city is lost unfortunately.

I scratched the surface. There were entire blocks of s*** I didn't slow down enough to photograph. I did get hollared at for photographing the guy on the bench. "Why you takin' pictures of homeless people?"
The smells were incredible as well. I never thought I'd smell a worse city than New Orleans, but Seattle easily won that award.

I wish some of yall could have seen downtown LA in 2022 coming out of the pandemic. The entire thing had become skid row. Drugged out and schizzophrenic bums going crazy all over the place...literally saw several fighting concrete sidewalks or walls of office buildings. I could not believe they held a business conference there but I guess a contract is a contract.

Also, heading into town from the airport, every overpass became more and more filled with homeless encampments. Many of which were right next to $1-2MM homes.

With the rapid injection of AI in everything the homelessness problem will continue to rise. This is actually a topic that our government needs to be planning for.

Growing up, if we were on a road trip, Dad would detour and take us to downtown Dallas or Houston and show us "skid row". He said, this is what alcohol, and drugs do to you if you cant control yourself.. I knew I didnt want to live that way.

One of my hobbies is, or was, architectural photography. Now obvious out in public you can take pictures of anything or anyone you want. However, on more than one occasion while taking pictures of buildings I was accused to taking pictures of people. I don't really do it any more, mostly to avoid the potential confrontation and hassle.

Was there last August. Stepped over feces, walked around a large pool of blood, walked past the "unhoused" passed out on the street.

I also avoided what I assume was a cloud of meth / crack from two guys on an early morning jog.

Great city!

I used to live at Ft. Lewis and would go to Seattle for weekends. Seattle was beautiful city 30 years ago. Now the communists have ruined it and will never recover.
