Over 5 million people across 2,000 cities, and one tragic fatality caused by someone not affiliated with the protest. Peacekeepers accidently shot a bystander trying to stop a guy with an AR-15 POINTED AT THE PROTESTERS... It's been peaceful, but not for the desperation of Trump sending in the NG, the Marines, pumping propaganda videos of past protests and riots across certified, state level, twitter accounts. Full blown "hype" videos for violence. Then this guy tries to shoot protesters and it's somehow their fault? No mass riots, no buildings burned, no mass arrests. If you think that's 'not peaceful,' you might just be mad it didn't go the way you hoped. 5 to 11 million Americans using their constitutionally mandated right to assemble and protest, done peacefully, done the right way, and MAGA is irate.IslanderAg04 said:ETFan said:

To know whether or not they "work," we'd have to identify what they are intending to accomplish. Would we, for example, consider the January 6th protest to have accomplished anything? If one measure was to stop the count, then it failed. If another measure is catalyzing the electorate, which helped re-elect Trump, then we might consider it something of a success. The "success" of this protest may not be known until the mid-terms, or possibly sooner if the sheer number of protestors, and the message they intended to communicate, has some impact on the decision-makers whose actions may be impacted by what was communicated by 5+ million people coming out and expressing their displeasure with the way things are currently going.samurai_science said:Well since they have never worked in the history of the earth I wouldnt know what a successful protest looks like.oldyeller said:What would you consider a sign of accomplishment for a protest?Rapier108 said:And accomplished absolutely nothing.ETFan said:Over 5 million people across 2,000 cities, and one tragic fatality caused by someone not affiliated with the protest. He could not give a good answer when I asked the same questions.
Instead, it was just talking points like "he needs to do it in a different way" or "he should have asked the governor (Newsom) before using the national guard." My favorite was "Congress won't do anything without Trump's approval and that is what a king would do."
Nothing these people do or say is organic. They are spoon fed their talking points daily from whatever social media account, podcast, etc. they follow, and then run to regurgitate them over and over.
