For starters, the Trump 2017 tax cut was more conservative. Several Clinton era bills were also.

The reason that all the conservative senators (and those in house) or against this bill because it's (wait for it) …..

Not conservative!!

If it were, then why are all the known RINOs lining up to vote for it?

I get the "This is the best we can do for now, so get in line and pass it and let's keep working for better" sentiment. It makes sense. There are no perfect laws, do the best you can and try for more cuts later.

There will be some changes and ultimately it's going to pass. At least I hope so.

But don't try to sell us a "most conservative EVAR" load of shart. No one is buying that.

You know, I'm not even mad at Trump. He is who he has always been. It's the people who've been shoving him down our throats while at the same time telling us he's our only option that I'm peeved at. Stop pissing on our legs and telling us it's raining.

Agreed. We are a nation of Boomers, by Boomers, for Boomers. Lots of tough talk, no action. Lots of conservative talk, lots of liberal action. We deserve better than that

History books will report on this era of partisan yellow journalism and woke culture. And everyone in the future will wonder how society fell so far that people couldn't define a woman publicly for fear of being cancelled.

I'm starting to believe that the assassination of Kennedy was effectively a coup with the three letter agencies taking over. We are run by the foreign policy establishment, hell the entire world is run by the U.S. foreign policy establishment. I think they contemplated a never ending Cold War and when it did actually end they were so drunk on power that the idea of returning that power to the people was absurd to them. We've reached the point where the people are fighting back and the establishment is protecting its turf. Trump is a clown but this problem is significantly bigger than he is and he was never going to be allowed to fix it even if he knew how. For their part the Democrats are the political face of that establishment and the Republicans are controlled opposition.

Politicians lie and mislead all the time and it's acceptable as long as they score narrative points against the other team.

Our news industry, what use to be considered an important pillar of democracy, the 4th estate does little more than sell whatever titlating story of the day is for ad revenue. Investigative journalism is practically science fiction at this point.

Does anyone think this is a sustainable place for democracy to survive? I wonder what our kids and grand kids will read in their history books one day about us, how we took our eye off the ball and allowed the failure of their way of life

I think General Flynn alluded to this in statements this week.

It's not intended to be, that's where everyone is misunderstanding. This is a tax bill, with some cuts in it as allowed in this type of bill. This is only half of Trumps economic plan and the cuts come in an APPROPRIATIONS bill. If everything was put in now, it will never pass because of the RINOs. Remember them? The only thing stopping it from going through is because of the Libertarians don't know how to play politics and decided to take their ball and run.

A more conservative bill will appease them, but then you risk having RINOs switch their vote because it's too conservative. That's what is at play here.

This bill expands on those tax cuts and makes them permanent. If it fails, everyone gets a tax increase and it effectively kills the plan Trump put together. Just like Ronald Reagan's approach. How'd he do?

Wrong. Being a boomer is not about when you were born, it's about mindset. Being reflexively aggressive and posting incoherent thoughts on TexAgs is the hallmark of being a boomer

It doesn't. It doesn't renew some pro-business growth components and adds a more complicated tax structure.

That statement could not be farther from the truth.

While R's are not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, they are the closest ideological party to Good that we have at this time.

Democrats are simply pure evil. Hypocrites and baby murderers. Democrats have historically enslaved voters and entire classes and cultures of individuals using their vulnerabilities to obtain power. They repel faith in Jesus. Lie, cheat, and steal to get the power they worship.

You are wrong.

Perhaps the "confusion" is because you literally just said it's the most conservative piece of legislation ever, now you were saying it's not meant to be that.

So again, I think this bill is going to pass with some changes, and I'm OK with that. But stop trying to make it something it's not.

It is the most conservative bill ever but it's the BEGINNING, not the END. There is more to come. Why is everyone so focused on what it's not at this point? He's been in office 150 days FFS and everyone is pouting because it doesn't fix EVERYTHING. A bill that fixes EVERYTHING won't make it past the house. Think about it b

This right here is what is wrong with the Republican Party, including Trump

Do you ever see the Democrats trying to appease the moderates in their party? No, they are ostracized by Party leaders. The Democrats always side with the more liberal members of the party.

Yet Republicans do the opposite. They appease the moderates and ostracize the conservatives

Trump calls people like Massie and Roy RINO, , but never does the same for those members that actually vote liberal. Why?

This sounds an awful lot like dems when they control the house getting republicans to go along with their spending bills, and promising to vote with republicans on a later bill. Guess what never happened.

Had the D's and R's not been doing such an awful job for decades, we wouldn't have Trump.

The question that never gets asked is...why were Americans willing to vote for Trump twice despite all of his flaws and bad press over the alternatives in both parties?

A more conservative bill won't make it out of the HOR because the RINOs won't vote for it. Should that happen, everything is lost. That would entail an appropriations bill and needs 60 votes in the Senate. Do you know 10 Democrats that will support a more conservative bill, because that's what you'll need.

No we don't. We get exactly what we deserve. The reason I know this is because of Trump's complete failure as a president (and human being) we will probably get AOC or Bernie as president and we will only have ourselves to blame.
