Rubio doing a great job. I think Trump will endorse Vance and that will give him a lot of momentum. I'd still pick DeSantis. Youngkin another good option. Deep bench for the Republicans in 28

It does appear to be a deep bench.

Circle the wagon, slay it on the economy, clean out the terrorist, and don't start any wars.

And 2026 could be a bloodbath for the libs leading to a 2028 landslide!

He's been an amazing appointment. I thought little of him taking this position and figured it would be ok but nothing spectacular. He's been on fire and putting himself into the 2028 conversation.

I think Rubio has a better chance to win then Vance, although I like them both.

I love Desantis but not sure he has the personality. Maybe he can be the VP.

Here's Rubio's problem he cannot overcome. He's too short. As petty as it sounds we just won't elect a short president. The aesthetics are just not good. I found a new found respect for Rubio and what he's done is Secretary of State because he has done an excellent job. He stays on message and he doesn't take no for an answer. However Rubio is just not a top of the ticket candidate. Like it or not he will always be looked at worldwide as Trump whipping boy because of the way Trump treated him in the debates and on the campaign trail.

Same goes for DeSantis. It's not that he's too short, but his personality is dry toast he has no charisma whatsoever and he just looks stiff.

I firmly believe it's gonna be Vance/Youngkin ticket and then after that possibly a Youngkin top ticket.

will it be a battle between Rubio, Vance, and DeSantis? Which one gets the nod?

I wish it would be DeSantis, but unfortunately even though he's one of the best executive administrators, if not the best, in our country today, he is just terrible on the campaign trail. He needs a complete overhaul of his campaign staff, and they need to bring in someone who can help him deliver better stump speeches.

I'd be pretty fired up about Vance/Youngkin as well, but I don't know that I agree with you about Rubio's stature meaning he'd be a poor VP candidate/campaigner.

He and Vance both are so quick witted and good 'on their feet' I think the height jokes wouldn't matter as much, plus in the 'new media era' of podcasts etc. it's less time standing before a podium than before. I did get a chuckle when RDS got busted using lifted boots or whatever. Not that it matters at all.

I never said VP. I specifically said that he is not a TOP ticket candidate, meaning POTUS not VP.

Rubio has the personality and credentials that, for a POTUS run, are second to none. The only thing that will hold him back, aside from Trump endorsing Vance, would be if he can be maga enough for maga to get behind him. If he can do that, he'll take down Newsom with ease.

I think, of everyone the right has, and there's plenty, he's one of the top people to take on Newsom in the charismatic realm that's so important to win the WH.

I think Trump backs either one of his kids or his kids spouses. I don't know if any of them actually want to run but I could see him pressuring them to do so. One of them left the possibility open recently.

Can Rubio be the first Trump team member to escape the curse/stench of being associated with Trump?

I'm not sure anyone from the first administration did…

I honestly have no idea how some people are going to determine who to support when Trump isn't around to tell them.
We will go back to looking for a candidate that represents the ideals that most of us supported Trump on.

Its really not that hard to figure out.
LOL Trump didn't represent the ideals that most who supported Trump based them on, but ok.
Do a simple search of how many comments from how many users who say that Trump is doing EXACTLY what we voted for.
Did YOU vote for Trump so he could increase the debt with a horrific budget bill?

I've asked this question before. MAGA doesn't seem to care about financial conservatism. They care about what Trump likes or tells them to care about.

Yes. I understand there is no way to continue without increasing the debt, the numbers are baked in and much of it has been "spent".

Its not a budget bill and I find it suboptimal but not horrific. Sorry, the pearl clutching CMs and TDS sufferers on f16 who do NOT represent a good cross section of America, certainly not Trump supporters.

If f16 were polled, including the interlopers from the Premium board, Trump would be below 40% support and 10% approval.

Let's see. What did folks base their Trump support on? Well, here is what he ran on. Probably lots more but these are off the top of my head

Tax cuts - check
Trade fairness - check
America First - check
Border security - check
Drain the swamp - check
Prosecute criminals - check
No attack on Social Security or Medicare - check
Reduce the price of Oil? - check
Support Israel? - check

WTF are you talking about?

I think Marco Rubio, JD Vance, Ron DeSantis, and Glenn Youngkin would all be great candidates and defeat the Democratic nominee in the 2028 Presidential Election.
