Is AI going to be a thing we will wish we could put back in the box? It seems to have far more bad applications than good.
Just wait until it hits politics.

If AI is self learning it will become racist very quickly.

It already has several years back. They put guard rails on it to prevent it from acting on this.

Spoiler alert, the guard rails will be removed, or never put in place even for the Chinese AI's.

As with humans, the tendency to learn to lie and deceive to obtain an advantage at an early age has already been observed.

Yeah, what the Chinese do with AI is as scary as what they do with viruses.

Human Resources used to exist to screen and hire candidates, and maintain the benefits of the corporation such as health care and 401K

AI concerns me, I know it is inevitable, but if your job gets replaced, it's not an easy pivot into a new profession.

I'm also not looking forward to getting nothing but automated responses from every outlet. It's already happening at work. "Dear Sir, hope you are doing well......"

Why did Microsoft-backed $1.3bn Builder.ai collapse? Accused of using Indian coders for 'AI' work

A wizard and a house of cards
Builder.ai was born in London, from co-founder Sachin Dev Duggal's frustration with traditional software development. His solution: combine modular code components with human developers, coordinated by AI. The company set out to fix that by combining modular code libraries with human developers, guided by an AI layer. Its platform, dubbed "Builder Studio," which came with a digital assistant ", Natasha", promised a seamless user experience powered by artificial intelligence.
What customers didn't see: most of the work was being done by developers in India, not the AI. In 2019, The Wall Street Journal revealed the inconvenient truth: Builder.ai's AI was more marketing gimmick than an engineering breakthrough. It was, as the report put it, "all engineer, no AI." This gap between narrative and reality would define the company's arc.

I emailed a Mercedes dealership on 25 May (Sunday) asking if a certain car was available. I got a reply in an hour (Sunday evening). I was surprised. It was from a Sabrina Baez saying the car was available when could I come by? I emailed back asking if they were open on Monday (Memorial Day). She said yes.
Then I got another email from a Giovanni on Monday about my questions. I went into the dealership this week and talking to another guy who was there asking for Sabrina or Giovanni. He said he will tell me a secret - Sabrina is AI!

WTF?

I work in AI and even I was fooled. Something seemed off but I never suspected AI.

But now, 3-4 days after Memorial Day, this Sabrina has turned into a stalker. She emails me everyday saying they are open on Memorial Day (which is 4 days in the past) and to come by!

I wanted to follow up on our previous conversation about the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300. I understand that you were interested in test driving the vehicle, and I'm happy to assist you with scheduling an appointment.

As I mentioned earlier, we are open on Monday, Memorial Day (May 26, 2025) from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. If you're available, I'd be happy to schedule a time for you to visit us.

Please let me know if this date and time work for you, or if you'd like to schedule a different time. I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Best Regards,

Sabrina Baez

In a year, if I go to a dealership, I'll be greeted by an AI hottie.
