I've got a never married buddy who is 55 and is in the market for a potential wife.

He's starting to look overseas because all the American women he knows or meets have tons of drama, or are genuinely nuts. Cute girl from HS who is looking for a man/provider but is also bi-polar, etc.

I'm trying to steer him towards The Philippines or Vietnam.

But yeah, it's not a pretty scene out there and college education is probably more of a negative now than it was in the past.

Let's look at the causes as I don't think indoctrination is necessarily the big blame. Here are the list of the big ones:
1. Father's have willingly ceded responsibility for the dating choices of their daughters. They also are less involved and provide less stability to them.
2. Boys in college have been told sex = respect. So they are out there causing damage to women using them for their own selfish desires both as status and short term pleasure.
3. Money is flowing in to keep the craziness up. Look at how much money and how connected a resource like Planned Parenthood is versus any pro-life on campus group.
4. The environment is more hostile and women are generally going to avoid the hostility. Men are more likely to be less phased. This is especially true with how overwhelmingly cynical college campus environments are. People build their reputations on crushing people much like journalists.
5. Lack of a grounding religion ie Christianity.

Sure we can all rah rah but the blame for the situation goes around.

Especially negative in impact liberal arts. (and surprisingly apparently biology science) You could probably have a generation skip it in college and things would improve without all the negative social messaging and agendas. History and political science especially have regressed to just agitprop. Most of it is inaccurate or taught falsely now anyway if the 21st C is any guide, and its never been easier to learn the actual from the primary sources themselves.

Colleges and Universities are huge indoctrination and brainwashing centers. Your example illustrates this perfectly. Many "professors" at these institutions are leading the charge and likely figured out by playing on typical female fears and such they'd be able to turn them into the illogical, violent, rainbow haired harridans we are seeing today.

They are excessively well-off --- do not have to contend much with the daily balancing of logistics of middle class households. Some of it might be miseducation. But a large part is going to be emotional turbulence which allows bad ideas to take hold temporarily. The problem is those bad ideas are a negative feedback loop which can trap an individual.
The need to be precise in the cause is important because then solutions can be properly thought of.
