What he did to the law firms is disgusting and dangerous. So obviously intended to silence any opposition. It's extremely concerning. The top firms will be hesitant to challenge this administration. I dont know how anyone can support that. If a democrat was doing this we would all justifiably be up in arms. Its insane.

So you are saying the firms that tried to bleed Trump aren't deserving to be bleed back? Ok. Bless your heart.
I'm not even sure how to respond its such a non-answer. One is the president of the United States with the power of the government. Others are private citizens representing clients. What is your point? A president can punish a private citizen for opposing its administration? Did you read the executive order about PaulWeiss? It was total nonsense. It cited pro bono work as a reason for punishment. Just moronic.

This is one where the intellectual MAGAs should really think. If the other side did this we would all be up incensed. Its totally in conflict with the principles of our country. Of everything he has done, this one may bother me the most.

Now do the attacks at all the legal firms that might represent Trump...The top "white shoe" firms essentially bowed out of the game due to the leftist attacks...
Not because Biden was threatening them. They didnt want to out of market pressure.

Nope. Those law firms were involved in perpetrating a hoax on the American people that prevented Trump from doing what he was elected to do. People should be in prison for it, and would be were it not for corrupt partisans like "Judge" Boasberg.

Listen cowboy..those folks gleefully took the opportunity to crush Trump…..and there were abuses. They rightfully should lose their security clearances. Even with the reaches you are doing….would have to agree on that.

When a radical left president is elected and goes to war with law firms that oppose its administration, please stay silent.

Security clearances okay. Dont think it is that big of a deal but it is still a bad look. That isnt all that those EOs were designed to do. they were designed to destroy the firms. You guys dont understand how big of a deal they were. The Paul Weiss one really was scary.

I honestly love to be proven wrong here. Did the Biden administration put out similar executive orders or something comparable?

Absolutely, you're wrong. You may recall attorneys being jailed by the January 6 committee, merely because they worked for Trump.

Meanwhile, Kevin Clinesmith didn't go to jail because Boasberg protected him.

You have zero idea how BigLaw works. Yes, they are getting huge sums from Ds. They are also getting larger sums from the Fortune 100. A few partners may have to leave and start new firms, but Paul Weiss and others will be just fine. They may be able to buy one less vacation home in Greece, but they will be just fine.

I have worked in big law for 10 years and am at a firm very similar to Paul Weiss. I understand how it works.

I am but that isnt what is bothering me. My firm has been on one of the lists but its not a big deal. It is the silencing of opposition. Any elite firm is going to be very hesitant to take on clients opposed to the administration. That is a dangerous precedent. Its shocking that conservatives on here wouldnt be concerned with this.

That fact that people are not concerned is proof that the label you used for them no longer applies. We live in a new world.

Do you have a link to the Trump motion to recuse Boasberg? I cannot find a copy.

Sorry. After all the lawfare and collusion against Trump by Biden and the DOJ, including using prosecutors in New York and Georgia to raid his house, jail him, and attempt to ruin him, no one on the left should utter a peep.

Trump asked for him to be impeached. (See links in OP.)

Impeachment articles have been filed.

Thank you for that, but it doesn't answer my question.

I'm asking for a motion filed in court asking to recuse

Uhhhhhh there is a discussion about how this judge needs to be recused on THIS thread. The contents of such a motion are relevant to that discussion.

Very complicated to piece that together! Lol.

The information about his conflicts is easily found - see daughter and wife. There doesn't need to be a motion. He should recuse sua sponte based on the conflict rules.

So no motion was filed? Yes, a judge must self-recuse when warranted, but when they don't do so, the lawyers must file a motion when the circumstances suggest it is needed!

This appears to be one of those "internet lawyers" saying one thing, and Trump's lawyers doing something completely different! We saw that ALOT in the lawfare criminal/civil actions brought by Biden's DOJ and his cohorts in GA and NY.

Bozoberg has FAR exceeded his jurisdiction here. This if is not a defense of anything he has done. But if the "he has to recuse" was so clear, don't you think Trump's lawyers would have filed a motion? Or are they just not as smart as the "influencers" on Twitter? lol

So what do you think about the law firm purposely pushing a false document that the knew was bs but claimed it was true? Is this just what sleazy lawyers who are POS do?

No idea why DOJ didn't file a motion to recuse - and again it doesn't matter.

It doesn't matter??? What???

You can't appeal on that issue if you don't raise it!!

Boasberg is a liberal loony bird it seems hell bent on controlling Trump. But if this conflict was so obvious, it would be incumbent on Trump's lawyers to move to recuse him!

That they have not done so, while at the same time doing so for other judges, should tell you all you need to know on their thoughts on the merits of such a motion!

Aggie Jurist

Have you seen a motion to recuse every result in a reversal? The standard is "abuse of discretion" which is about impossible.

Still doesn't mean the judge isn't improperly conflicted.

That's exactly what happened with Trump. The precedent was already set.

Do you think feeding the left with some of their medicine might cure them from the lawfare? Hopefully it will.

have to agree with Gipper on this one. If Trump's lawyer thought there was grounds to get Boasberg recused, they would file a motion. sorry, but "it will be hard to get reversed if we lose" is not really an excuse for not doing something as a lawyer.

Right - the left being market forces. No one wanted to be seen siding with Trump because clients didn't like it. It wasn't pressure from the government
