The most significant jump came after the Feb. 28 Oval Office meeting, which ended in a public dispute with U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.https://t.co/tjP5Ye1XN9

I know Ukrainian legislation prevents elections from being held during times of war, but Z would crush it.

Sincere question:
Why the hate for Zelensky?
Look, I get the argument that this war needs to end and U.S. tax dollars need to stop going over there. I get it. But you could feel the money flow needs to stop and that war needs to end while still having some empathy for and understanding that guy's difficult position and the position of his people. They can be mutually exclusive things.
If YOU were in this guy's shoes back on 2022...Ukraine was YOUR country...what would you have done differently than he had done? You'd have immediately surrendered to the Russians because you wouldn't have had the stomach for a fight? You wouldn't have been begging/borrowing doing anything you could to try to fund raise $$$$ to support your troops from other countries?
If you are upset about the $$$ then why not blame the people who gave him the money, rather than blame him even asking for it?
Is the hate because he's been labeled a 'dictator' by some? How are they supposed to hold logistically execute an election over there if right now 7 million are outside the country as refugees, another million are on the front lines, 20% of the territory is occupied by hostile forces, etc. Do we really expect them to somehow hold an election under such circumstances that would produce a politically stable result?
What you first need is the war to stop in such circumstances then you do an election.
Do you think the guy has been stealing a bunch of money? If so, exactly how and how much (verified proof)? Is literally stacks of cash being sent over there to Zelensky's bank account or has the '$$$' value been delivered in the form of humanitarian assistance, supplies, weapons systems and vehicles, ammunition,, etc.? If it is the latter, is there some kind of indication that much of that assistance has somehow been diverted from their war effort?
Clearly at least decent amount of that assistance has been used as intended, given the Russians have taken a beating as well in this 3-year fight. The Ukrainians haven't been throwing rocks at the Russians.
Again...this war should stop. Wanting to stop funding it is totally justified. But the hate for this guy who has been trying to lead his country in very difficult circumstances in a very difficult fight, I just don't get that angle.
You can quit with the rest of it. You accidentally answered your own question.Pumpkinhead said:

How long would the war go on if a foreign army invaded the US? How much would we negotiate away?David_Puddy said:
Great synopsis. I'd also add in the fact that he publicly put out there for the entire world that he doesn't think this war will end for a very long time. Does that sound like someone who is ready to sit down at the negotiating table? Really really stupid to say that when Trump wants to help him & Putin get this war over with.
If a foreign army invaded and killed my family member, I would fully support killing every single last one of them.astros4545 said:Pumpkinhead said:

That's amazingly pathetic. Again the left called this guy a horrible fascist dictator during Trump's first term. Then somehow he became a hero. I guess acting like a little **** throwing a temper tantrum makes you a hero in Ukraine.
Regardless, he's still gonna capitulate to Trump.

When he shows up as a guest in the White House and waits until he is in front of the cameras to pop off it showed me he's a little *****.Quote:
A1: In an interview with the Associated Press on February 2, Zelensky stated:
When I hear that America gave Ukraine hundreds of billions [of dollars], 177, to be more precise . . . as the president of a warring country, I can tell you that we received just over 75 . . . We are talking about specific things, because we got it, not with money but with weapons. There is training, there is additional transport, there are not only prices for weapons. There were humanitarian programs, social, etc. . . . $100 billion of these 177, we never received. When it's said that Ukraine received $200 billion to support the army during the war, that is not true. I don't know where all the money is.
The statement is a bit confusing since he was speaking off the cuff in a video interview. He refers to both $177 billion and $200 billion. He speaks about supporting the "army" where aid helped all elements of the Ukrainian armed forces, and he appears to include only weapons as aid "received."
