Why a state would be set up in a way where a governor can remove a mayor over a political disagreement is beyond idiotic. New York deserves what comes their way.

Weren't liberals telling us about how they love law and order but now want to remove a mayor for following the law?

He dared to walk off the plantation. And now he's not welcome back.

Can't we just coexist?!?!

I love it that Trump has the Democrats in complete disarray adn sniping at each other now.

I hope he keeps his foot on the gas and gives them four years of misery just like they did to him during his first term.

The Acting US NY Attorney was a new Trump appointee and former law clerk for Scalia.

Would it surprise you the NYC Mayor has much more power than counties in New York? Only municipality that can tell county sheriffs to FO.

One line attorney didn't want to dismiss the case against Adams, so she resigned. Her boss threw a hissy fit over her doing what she should have done. In other words, Thursday.

Show me a Democrat mayor that shouldn't be prosecuted. Democrats aren't pursuing him because of corruption. They are pursuing him because he left the plantation. They are doing to him what they tried to do to Trump.

Yet another example of democrats protecting democracy by ignoring the will of the people.

It is always fun to watch them eat their own

The 5 county sheriffs offices in NYC are not the same as Texas and other states, or even other counties in New York. They basically serve papers, summons, eviction notices, etc.

The state of NY has a lot of power over NYC and not just because it owns the charters of cities in the state. The Tammany Hall days in the last half of the 19th century and into the early 20th were so corrupt that Albany took control or exerted oversight authority over various aspects of the City.

ETA: don't forget which political party Tammany Hall was a part of.

Why do Democrats hate Black People?

Why can't a White woman stand that a Black Man is leading NYC.

Where is the outrage?

Is the NY Capitol ablaze tonight?
Are people on her lawn?

Where is the ACLU?

Put up with it for 8 years under Obama. If they had left things alone, and natural course, we would have had 8 years to patch that up and make up for it. The natural American process of swinging pendulum often half a generation, roughly two terms . Instead the Dems and their MSM mouthpieces always act as if they are entitled to power. So they marshalled a large number of invalid and dubious leverages and first semi crippled his first term, and denied him a second. Then subject us to four years of a deranged shadow government more Left than anything since Robespierre. They and the press have richly rated this perfect storm of a WH unconcerned with legacy or re-election as long as accomplishes his aims.

Adam's should be prosecuted. But Trump wants him because he is now following law for immigration. And Adam's only wants to avoid prosecution. This is politics as usual. Even if I like the outcome on immigration, it's still kind of stinks.

Very on brand for Eric Adams to accept a bribe from Trump admin in order get himself out of trouble for accepting bribes.

This reeks. The Justice Department demanding that prosecutors drop a case against a politician so that said politician can then advance the Executive's political agenda is slimy.

They are dropping it "without prejudice" so they can continue to control him indefinitely. If he doesn't do what federal executive says, charges come back.

Why did Trump appoint someone who can't see the charges against Adams were fake from the start?

He should've vetted better.

I don't necessarily disagree but New York is a sovereign state. So long as it has "a republican form of government," it can do what it wants.

If the charges are fake, why aren't they dropping them with prejudice?

Keep pulling on that thin thread bro...you might actually unravel the entire Trump movement.

Here's a suggestion...why don't you come up with another one of those snappy little songs the dwindling Dem faithful can sing at one of their hilarious high school improv troupe rallies.

If New York is willing to foot the bill for fancy hotels and room service for illegal aliens, by all means let them. There are always more buses.

Why?

I am not sure we have seen all the prosecutorial evidence and certainly Eric Adams has not had his day in court.

He probably should have some of things looked at, but generally such "investigations" such as this result in a wrist slap and repayment, maybe a fine, and such. Biden DOJ was looking to put the man in Rikers for life.

I am not a fan of Adams, but the whole case against him stinks like a Trump lawfare case. Making felony mountains out of petty misdemeanor molehills.

Dismissing without prejudice removes the taint from the Biden DOJ and keeps possible for charges to be refiled should additional evidence or laybeaking be discovered. In the interim, he can continue to serve as mayor and there is an upcoming election to let the voters decide should he stay or should he go.
